We Are Bremerton!
Election update for the Bremerton School District community
February 13, 2024 (8:20 p.m.)
Thank you voters!
Dear Bremerton School District staff, families, and community:
Thank you for your participation in the electoral process!
Early election results announced tonight show that voters are approving our replacement EP&O Levy (Proposition 1) with 62.08 percent “yes” votes. We are humbled and very grateful for our community’s commitment to education and for helping us to ensure educational opportunities and excellence for all learners.
This EP&O Levy will allow us to continue to fund programs, services, and staff that are unfunded or underfunded by the state, including extracurricular activities, classroom support, school security, school nurses, custodians, and more.
The proposed Capital Bond (Proposition 2) is also narrowly passing in the early election results with 60.87 percent of the votes, making it too close to call. As you may know, a bond requires 60% “yes” votes + 1 to pass.
Our community’s potential approval of this Bond (the first bond on the ballot since 2005!) represents a tremendous investment in the future of our students, schools, and community that will have a profound impact for generations to come.
We are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us, and we understand the responsibility that comes with it. We are committed to investing these funds wisely and transparently to serve our students, and will continue to be excellent stewards of our community’s funds now and in the future.
Election results will be certified in approximately 10 days and we will provide an update at that time.
Thank you for your trust in our school community.
Dr. James Crawford
Superintendent
