7th Grade: Kyler Willstead
- The student of the month from 7th grade, Kyler WIllstead, is a hard worker who sets an excellent example for others to follow. Kyler always comes to class with a positive attitude and consistently puts forth his best effort. Congratulations, Kyler!
8th Grade: Elena Refatllari
- The January student of the month for 8th grade is very hard working. She is helpful to others and kind. She writes very insightful essays in class. She also participates in Volleyball. Congratulations Elena Refatllari.
9th Grade: Audree Dorn
- The 9th grade Student of the Month for January is Audree Dorn. Audree is the type of student whose work is always meticulous . Teachers appreciate her level of integrity and effort given with each and every lesson. She is always willing to help out her fellow classmates. When placed in a small group setting, Audree takes on a leadership role. She is an active participant in lessons and homework is always complete. Audree maintains her excellent academic status while staying involved in volleyball (both at AFC and through club), basketball and student council. Congratulations, Audree Dorn!
10th Grade: Kendra Stewart
- Kendra Stewart is one of the most hard working students in her grade. She is always polite and helpful and gets all of her work done even when she has to miss school. Kendra shows her leadership in the classroom by always participating and being one of the first to offer help to her classmates when they are in need academically or otherwise.
11th Grade: Rhylee McCaslin
- The Junior Class Student of the Month for January is Rhylee McCaslin. Rhylee works hard in all of her classes to be successful. She goes out of her way to get help and understand the content. Rhylee is also very friendly and kind. She goes out of her way to say hello and willingly helps classmates who may be struggling. Rhylee is very deserving of this honor.
12th Grade: Angel Soto
- Angel Soto is the type of student that you want in every class and is also a role model on the basketball court. He contributes thoughtfully to classroom discussions and turns in quality work. Angel is always willing to help a classmate. As he finishes up his senior year, we see a bright future ahead for him!
Report Cards and Benchmark Reports Sent Home
Students in grades 9-12 received a paper copy of their 1st semester report cards, as well as their winter benchmark scores from AIMSWeb Plus. Please review this information with your student and let us know if you have any questions.
Students in grades 7 and 8 will receive their report card and benchmark reports on Friday afternoon.
AFC Teachers Receive Maggie & Amos Foundation Grant
Three of AFC Jr/Sr High School teachers have received a grant from the Maggie & Amos Foundation! Ms. Dempsey received $250 ,Mrs. Viall received $300, and Mrs. Penick received $200.

Scholarships for Seniors now Available!
Seniors attended a meeting on Monday, 1/24, that went over available scholarships. Scholarships are available on our website and are due to the main office by Friday, March 18. Please click here to visit our website and see the available scholarships.
