A MESSAGE FROM BRIAN FORSHEE, CFHS PRINCIPAL
Please help me by welcoming our two newest assistant principals to the CFHS Charger Team, Allison Groce and Christopher Wood. Assistant Principal Allison Groce will be taking over alpha split (Do- Ke) while Assistant Principal Christopher Wood will be taking over alpha split (Pi-Z). Both will be on campus ready to go on Monday!
Can you believe that we are already beginning the 3rd week of school? That means the 1st progress grading period ends this Friday 9/1. Please make sure to have all assignments turned in to be graded.
Attendance and Exemption Handbook Reminders:
Please review the LCISD EXEMPTION POLICY in the student handbook, pg. 90 online, (no more than 3 absences (excused or unexcused) allowed to qualify for exemptions.
Doctor's notes after an absence must be turned in within 5 days after absence to qualify being excused. (pg 23 online)

Allison Groce
Fulshear High School Assistant Principal
Allison Groce has 15 years of experience in education including five years of teaching experience, three years as a teacher development specialist, and seven years as an assistant principal. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Spanish. She received a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston.
Christopher Wood
Fulshear High School Assistant Principal
Christopher Wood has 28 years of experience in education including eight years of teaching experience, 17 years as an assistant principal, one year as a principal intern, and two years as a principal. He graduated from Buffalo State College with a Bachelor’s degree in English. He received a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

Youth in Philanthropy
The application is open to any junior or senior who would like to apply to participate in Youth in Philanthropy. It is a wonderful program that brings students across Ft Bend County together to grow as leaders and learn about the nonprofit sector of our community. Students give six Saturdays of their time during the school year to serve local nonprofits. If you would like to apply, please click the link below.

The next Service Cord deadline will be September 15th. All service hours completed between May 1st and September 14th will need to be submitted in SchooLinks and verified by your supervisor. Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad will host its first meeting Thursday 8/31 at 7:45 AM in room 2101.
See Mrs. Salim in 2101 for a morning tutorial pass.
If your interested in challenging yourself in a variety of Science topics like Cell Bio, Remote Sensing, Bridge Building, Environmental Chemistry and so much more you should consider joining Science Olympiad.
In Science Olympiad you will have the opportunity to compete in many different science tests and challenges at major tournaments such as The University of Texas, Rice University, Cy-Falls High School and Seven Lakes High School. There will be students from all over the United States at many of these tournaments.
Our team is still new and growing, and we could use more students who are interested in Science
School Pictures - September 19th
Underclassman pictures (for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors) will take place on Tuesday, September 19th. Students will be photographed during their English class.
Senior Portraits are happening through Cady studios this year. Because we've been getting a lot of questions about portraits this year, our journalism program has created an article to help ensure everyone knows how to get registered. We have a a set number of pages dedicated to senior ads this year; once those are full, we will close sales. To ensure your senior is celebrated, order early! This year, we're using the ad creator through Jostens; parents will be designing their OWN senior ads this year. We'll send directions for ad creation soon!
SENIORS - ProGrad Meeting September 18
Senior Parents and Students- the link below now has the ProGrad Membership available for purchase. You need this membership for entrance into ProGrad and for us to keep track of your points all year!
We are still taking orders for shirts all year but the next order has to be placed by September 6th if you wish to wear it for HOCO spirit days!

Parking is now CLOSED! We are FULL.
As construction barriers begin to move, more parking will open back up. We will be using a wait list for all. Must join wait list in order to receive a parking spot- we will process as more parking is released.
