FUEL 5th Grade Monthly Update

Hello 5th Grade Families!

We are trying something new this year! I will share out a monthly flyer specifically for 5th grade families that will be focused on 5th grade events and to-dos. This final semester of elementary school can often be a whirlwind of events and activities - our goal is to send one of these informational newsletters out each month with your need-to-knows!

Note: this does NOT take the place of the FUEL weekly newsletter. Your school-wide events, dates, etc. will still all only be in that newsletter. The regular newsletter will contain 5th grade events as well, but this will hopefully help to streamline the information for you in this final semester.

• Monday, February 12th - Student Information Sessions with Bruner/Castle @ FUEL
  
• Scheduling Forms will come home in backpacks after these sessions

• Thursday, February 15th - FMS Parent Information Night, 6-7:00 pm @ FHS Auditorium

• Monday, February 26th - FMS Virtual Parent Information Night, 6 pm via Google Meet (same information as the in-person event on 2/15); Link HERE.
• Wednesday, February 28th - FMS/FHS PTO Meeting, 6:30 pm @ FHS Nest (5th grade families invited)
• Friday, March 1st - FMS Scheduling Forms due to Homeroom Teachers
• Monday, March 4th - FMS Scheduling Day @ FUEL (8:45-3 pm)
• Wednesday, June 5th - 5th Grade Move Up Day, 11:45-2:30 pm (field trip to FMS)

As current 5th grade parents prepare to move to middle school, we’d like to invite them to the next FMS/HS PTO meeting which will be held on Wednesday, February 28th at 6:30 in the FHS Nest.

Battle of the Books 2024

Prior to break, our local Ferndale librarians came to meet with our 5th graders to review our Battle of the Books competition scheduled for Thursday, March 21st! This program is sponsored and run by the Ferndale Library each year. It is an optional event, and students sign-up in groups of 3-4 students. They are not required to read all of the books - though they certainly can! They will then work as a team to answer questions about the books on the day of the Battle!
