Superstition to Intention
Globally, countless traditions and superstitions surround the start of the new year. It also brings thoughts about goals people want to achieve, words they want to focus on for the year, and resolutions they make. Being raised in the South, we always have cabbage, cornbread, black-eyed peas, and pork. These things are supposed to bring money, luck, and progress, which would be welcome every year. While the meal is delicious, it's still a meal. None of that comes to fruition without intentionally doing things to make them happen.
While these different things vary from fun to personal to ongoing practices just because you have always done them, the difference comes in the intentionality behind what is being done.
As you think back to August, were there any resolutions, focus words, or goals you set that have waned? It's not too late to re-evaluate what's necessary to turn them into a reality. We would love to help you reach your goals. Please don't hesitate to reach out!

Foundations
Thoughts for January
Foundations teams should be planning at this time for the January reset or reteach of expectations for common areas after the long holiday break. It is essential to remind students of the expectations for each common area, as well as a review of bus expectations. This is a great time as well to refresh staff members on their supervisory responsibilities in common areas of the building.
Foundations Teams, don't forget about the following resources to help your teams plan!
