March 2023 TOUGH Students of the Month
Jordan Poole is the Student of the Month for the Class of 2026! Jordan was nominated throughout the month of March by Mrs. Ozman and Mrs. Bee. Mrs. Ozman says: “Jordan works hard to obtain his goals in the classroom while also being a student-athlete. He is punctual, responsible, respectful, and puts so much thought into his writing.” Mrs. Bee adds: “Jordan consistently takes a leadership role during group tasks. Not only did he facilitate the discussion during a group activity this week, but he also helped a student who was struggling with the reading.” So far at CRHS, Jordan’s favorite class has been biology with Mrs. Bee because she “ gives us a lot of team assignments.” For Jordan, being Colonel TOUGH means trying to be the best at whatever you do. After high school, Jordan wants to play football and lacrosse at the University of Maryland and study to be a physical therapist. FUN FACT: Jordan likes to play chess, Xbox, and solve Rubik’s Cubes.
Reese Mangum is the Student of the Month for the Class of 2025! Reese was nominated in March by our Dean of Students, Mr. Oberdorf, who noted: “Reese has done an exceptional job at always treating others with respect as well as going above and beyond. Reese is friendly and outgoing with peers and staff. Reese consistently challenges herself academically and pushes herself to go above and beyond.” Reese’s favorite class so far has been computer science with Mr. Robuck. She says he “does an amazing job at making me feel included in his classroom and participating in his classroom.” For Reese, being Colonel TOUGH is very important. She adds: “I think it is very important to understand other lifestyles and help others when needed. To have heart goes hand in hand with understanding diversity. I think to have heart you also have to have respect for that culture/person, you have to be patient and understand when they are struggling and help them through a tough time.” After CRHS, Reece plans to stay in Maryland for college and study computer science and biomedical sciences. FUN FACT: Reese loves to crochet! She has made several crochet animals for staff and has made several family members animals and baby blankets!
DAlaine McNamara is the Student of the Month for the Class of 2024! DAlaine was nominated by Ms. Kinlock. She sent a shout-out saying: “DAlaine consistently challenges herself to set and obtain high goals as a creative writer. She completes her assignments in a timely fashion, participates actively in class discussion, and displays diligence.” DAlaine had a hard time picking her favorite teacher, saying “I like all of the teachers because they are very sweet and have a strong commitment to teaching.” For DAlaine, the most important part of being Colonel TOUGH is treating others with respect. After her time at CRHS, DAlaine says she wants to be a business owner and “start a modeling company that specializes in young ladies that don't feel good about themselves to remind them that they are perfect in their own skin.” FUN FACT: DAlaine loves to do nails and work out!
Shane Hubble is the Student of the Month for the Class of 2023! Shane was nominated by Mrs. Cathcart who noted: “Shane has gone above and beyond in Computer Science this semester so far. He has put a lot of effort into his website design and his Scratch projects. He is working hard at obtaining his goal of graduation.” Mr. Shelly ranks as Shane’s favorite teacher. He says, Mr. Shelly “has a great way of teaching and an even better sense of humor.” In Shane’s opinion having heart is the most important aspect of being Colonel TOUGH. FUN FACT: After graduation, Shane will continue working on diesel trucks!
