Early Childhood practiced trick or treating around school before the big event!
UWP MATH CONTEST
Last week, 28 of our finest #PointerNation Mathletes traveled to UW-Platteville for the 50th Annual UW-Platteville Mathematics Meet! In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the contest, every student was given a contest t-shirt. For this contest, students take two tests, one individual and one team. Students are broken into two levels, Level 1 being Freshmen and Sophomores and Level 2 being Juniors and Seniors. Schools are then placed in a division based on their enrollment. This year our team competed in Division 3.
Individual award winners are selected based on their scores on the individual test. This year, both Landyn Moellers and Regan Schuette received this award and were given medals from UW-Platteville.
Mineral Point Team Blue: Kalea Biddick, Carson Schroeder, Landyn Moellers, Faye Schuette, Johnny Robinson, Hank Allbright, Violet Renwick, Bobby Allbright, Regan Schuette, Derek Hottenstein, Abby Webb, Colton Dochnahl, Anthony Luu, and Anthony Buleje Cadena.
Mineral Point Team White: Aiden Wantroba, Madelyn Steffes, Madelyn McWilliams, Emily Heisner, Lily Fox, Lilly Houtakker, Tyce Sylvester, Mac Busser, Quentin Walter, Charlie DaVee, Madisyn Heim, Liz Hoffman, Cole Hentrich, and Ethan Hook.
Great job, all!
MIDDLE SCHOOL ACTORS
Actors from the American Players Theatre joined Mr. Miles' and Mrs. Rielly's classes for a "Merry Wives of Windsor" workshop where they created tableaus of the play's major scenes!

4K FRANKENSTEINS
Check out these cute little Frankensteins made by the wonderful and talented 4K students!
PUMPKIN CARVING
No matter how many times you've carved a pumpkin, scooping out the seeds is always the scariest part!
FRANCE
Since they earned their passports, 1st graders took advantage and "traveled" out of the country! They learned about Sergeant Billy the goat and the Fifth Battalion who fought in WW1. They journeyed from Canada to France!
FALL FBLA CONFERENCE
Mrs. Martin and three of her Future Business Leaders of America officers attended the Wisconsin Fall Leadership Conference in Middleton this week! There, they attended workshops about leadership, competitive events, presentation tips and tricks, and how to build a champion chapter. Students also had the opportunity to tour the Epic Campus, as well as the NBC15 Madison studio where they were able to watch a live newscast!
WOMEN IN STEM
Students enjoyed a field trip to UW-Platteville's Women in STEM Career Day! Our girls were co-winners of the lego bridge-building contest for their incredibly efficient and under-budget bridge design. This is a fantastic event for high school women to learn about careers that require creative problem solving, encourage forward thinking, make a difference in society, and shape the future of our world. The purpose of this program is to recruit more women in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
FALL GARDEN DAY
We had fantastic weather for our Fall Garden Day at the elementary! All students worked together to get the garden cleaned up and ready for a fresh crop. Students also had a guided tour of the Oak Savanna with Mr. Zach Pacana from Driftless Conservancy, listened to nature storyteller Jane Stenson, learned more about vermicomposting from Bridgette Miles, and met chickens. Oh, and back by popular demand, we served spaghetti squash. Everyone was involved and learned so much in the amazing space we have here at MPES!
