In honor of SkillsUSA Week, I would like to recognize senior, Ryan Wright. Ryan was a State Qualifier last year in SkillsUSA for Collision Repair but was unable to compete at the State meet during the shutdown. This year, he is looking to return to state and hopefully advance to the national competition. Ryan is a senior in our Collision Repair program and has been working hard with Mr. Ross to prepare for the competition. This morning Ryan was priming the doors for this late 90's Jeep that they have been doing a restoration job on. The class has done a wonderful job bringing this Jeep back to its original beauty as it is getting ready for it's new coat black paint.

This year we will have over 30 participants competing in 11 different competitions in April.

Congratulations to Paige on completing her first pair of tailored dress pants by herself as part of her assignment in Fashion and Textiles.

The Culinary Arts students were short staffed this week due to ISTEP testing but they really came together to work as a group to put together over 75 Valentines Day cookie boxes to fulfill all of the orders. Thanks to their amazing hard work, individuals like me will be able to bring a smile to the faces of their loved ones at home!

Thank you to McKenzie Center for Innovation and Technology for hosting our Project Lead the Way - Biomedical Sciences team yesterday. Our Biomed team had a wonderful afternoon collaborating with their Biomed team and are looking forward to having their students return to class next week!

Did you know that Warren Township is home to 4 levels of Biomedical Science courses? Biomed is a Science elective that allows individuals to complete a wide variety of labs and experiments within the Biomedical field while progressing through the various levels.

Congratulations to Mrs. Colville on being named the Respect and Character winner this month. Mrs. Colville is a vital part of our Business Department and does an outstanding job connecting with her students and contributing to their overall success.

While we have been fortunate to have our CTE programs open the past few months it will be so nice to have all of our classes filled with students on Wednesday, February 17. As a reminder, we will be returning to all in-person hybrid instruction starting on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. All WCC students will continue to follow the Black and Gold cohort model.

As a reminder, Monday, February 15 there will be no school due to President's Day and Tuesday, February 16 is an eLearning day for all students.
