A Note From Dr. Stewman

The first day of school is almost here! We are so excited! The teachers will be back in the building tomorrow preparing to greet, teach and serve our students. We are working to keep you updated for this new school year.

Below you will find information on our Virtual Open House. We won't be opening the building for everyone before school starts, but you will be in contact with a teacher and have opportunities to ask questions and take care of the same things you do before school begins each year. You will see some changes, but our love for our students is still true today and tomorrow!

Health Information Update

Parents and Guardians please fill out the Back to School Gateway. This link will allow you to update any address or phone number changes that may have occurred over the summer. It's MOST IMPORTANT job is to update your student's HEALTH INFORMATION for Nurse Christy. So PLEASE! PLEASE! Fill it out. This link is only open until September 3rd.

School Visitor Protocol for Covid-19

The Springdale School District values partnerships that enrich the educational experience delivered through volunteers, visitors, parental involvement, and community partnerships. Along with this, the Springdale School District recognizes that the safety and security of students, families, and staff are of the utmost importance. Springdale Schools will follow board policy (Visitors in the schools and on school campus & Contact with students while at school), CDC, ADH, and State/Federal guidance as it relates to adjusting our visitor policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

PARENTS - CHECKING STUDENTS IN AND OUT

For contactless student check-in and check-out, parents will complete a Contactless Student Check-In / Check-Out Form. Sonora will provide each family with 2 car tags that will have a QR Code to access this form.

PARENTS - EATING LUNCH WITH CHILDREN

While COVID-19 is prevalent in our community, guests will not be allowed to eat lunch with students. We hope to be able to relax this restriction as the pandemic subsides.

PARENTS - MEETING WITH TEACHERS

Parents are encouraged to meet with teachers via phone or video conferences when they have any questions or concerns. Currently, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) recommend limiting any nonessential visitors to schools. If necessary to meet face to face, parents who are requesting to meet with a teacher should follow the above visitor process. Please make arrangements ahead of time.

PARENTS - SPECIAL CONFERENCES (SPED, 504, ESL, OZARK GUIDANCE, YOUTHBRIDGE )

In an effort to keep our students and staff safe during COVID-19, parents are encouraged to meet virtually for special conferences. Currently, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) recommend limiting any nonessential visitors to schools. If necessary to meet face to face, then parents who are requesting to meet for a special conference should follow the above visitor process. Please make arrangements ahead of time.
