January 2024
Principles Message
Dear Bulldog Families,
Happy New Year! I don’t know how it happened so suddenly, but 2024 is HERE! The sense of “new” is in the air, and it fills my mind with new possibilities and opportunities. I look forward to our upcoming conversations on how to best support our Bulldogs, staff, and community. I truly hope that you join me in the conversations as we continue to strive to bring pride to Palermo by meeting our goals in creating a school culture that enhances our learning environment for our students and brings our community together.
To help us meet our goals, our site is applying for the California Community Schools Partnership Program. This generous grant will bring annual funds to our school over the next five years to support our Bulldogs, staff, and community. We need YOUR voice to help us complete this process! Please complete the Family Survey linked on our website and our FB page. Thank you for your support, Bulldog Families!
January is a fresh start for our Bulldogs to meet their goals. This is a perfect opportunity to reflect with your student on their growth so far this academic year. Celebrate their accomplishments and discuss the next steps moving forward to meet or exceed their goals. There’s nothing like a “new” year to give a fresh perspective! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our teachers, Ms. Johnson, and myself for support…let’s start 2024 STRONG!
Happy New Year, Bulldog Families!
Warmly,
Mrs. Solano

What can be said in New Year rhymes,
That’s not been said a thousand times?
The new years come, the old years go,
We know we dream, we dream we know.
We rise up laughing with the light,
We lie down weeping with the night.
We hug the world until it stings,
We curse it then and sigh for wings.
We live, we love, we woo, we wed,
We wreathe our prides, we sheet our dead.
We laugh, we weep, we hope, we fear,
And that’s the burden of a year.
