Spanish Club and Dual Credit News
Ms. Kennedy's Dual Credit students' skeletons that they made to honor a famous celebrity or character in a book/movie who has passed away. They also did a presentation on the person/character they chose using the past tense in Spanish. This year, students chose to research and portray Michael Jackson, Princess Diana, Juice WRLD, Cameron Boyce, Jim Brown, Manute Bol, and Ghost Face. They did a great job!!! Also pictured is our Spanish Club officers' gathering at Xochimilco with the owner, his son and our server.

NBHS Career Day November 8th
Students attended breakout sessions with presenters from all over the county that shared their real-life experiences in their careers. They also participated in a Career Fair and had the opportunity to apply for jobs on the spot! The day ended with a Reality Check put on by the Army National Guard in which students picked a career, earned a salary, then had to make decisions on how they spent their money - buy or rent a house? New or Used car? Medical bills, and all kinds of real life decisions.
NBHS Pretzels with a Purpose 11.9.23
On 11:40 Dismissal Days this year, we are focusing on Preparing for College, Career, and Life! Students attend 3 different sessions on College/Career Planning and Goal Setting, Social Emotional Learning, and Community Service/Outreach/Team Building. I would like to thank our special guests that came in to meet with our students: Robert Ferrill from CACC, and Brett Huff, From MTI. And give a HUGE shout out to Jennifer Tirey for leading the seniors through sessions for stress management and relaxation techniques through Yoga. She even did a bonus session with staff and we loved it!!
Nervous System Assembly to by held on November 20th
Amanda Thomas is a Certified Nervous System Coach and Speaker, helping children and teens reduce stress and increase performance through nervous system regulation. She has created a R.I.S.E. Program and will be presenting to our district.
She believes that through educating our youth on simple habits and balance exercises that support nervous system health, they will be equipped to reduce the mental, emotional, and physical effects of stress - FAST! This leads to greater self-awareness, clarity, and confidence to perform at their best.
We are looking forward to having her here to speak to our students!

Help!!! My student is struggling!!!
If your child is at-risk for failing or failing a class, there is still plenty of time to turn things around! High school students earn credits based on their semester grade using this formula: 40% of their Q1 grade + 40% of their Q2 grade + 20% of their Semester Exam grade.
So, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you the academic supports we have in place for students that are struggling.
8th Hour Advisory Tutoring – Our National Honor Society students offer peer tutoring from during Advisory. Please contact your child's teacher, Mr. Viola, or me and we will get them signed up for tutoring!
After School Support –There is a staff member available to help your child from 3:30-4:30 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with homework. Please contact me if you want your child to take advantage of this support.
HW/Lunch Detention – Students that are missing several assignments or major projects may be assigned to a homework lunch detention until they have all missing work completed and are passing all of their classes.
- High School HW Advisory Academic Support– High school students may be assigned to a homework advisory detention until they have all missing work completed and are passing all of their classes.
Please be sure to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences! If you are unable to attend, please email your child's teacher with any concerns that you may have.
