Our staff would like to send out a big thank you to our TCE PTO and all of our TCE families! It has been a great Staff Appreciation Week, and we are truly thankful for our TCE school community. From the food to the cards to the extra words of encouragement, our staff has felt so much love this week!

Field Day is coming up on Monday, May 23rd! Our kids will have an entire day of games, water activities, and a trip to the CORE to swim! You will see details soon of what your child will need that day and what they can expect!

We are also looking for volunteers if you’re available! We will need help running games and activities for the different groups throughout the day.

Our 3rd-5th graders will take their annual STAAR test next Tuesday, May 10th and Wednesday, May 11th. Our goal is to make this as stress-free for our learners as possible since this is only one daily snapshot of data for learners. As part of that, we'd love for parents to help us out with the items below to help our kids get their day off to a good start.

• Make sure iPads are fully charged and brought to school that morning.
• Send your child with their charger in case their iPad requires additional charging throughout the day.
• Make sure your child has a good breakfast that morning or arrive at school by 7:20 a.m. to have free breakfast in our cafeteria.
• If your child is absent that day, please contact our front office in the morning to let them know. Your child will make up their test upon their return.

**No visitors will be allowed in the building on testing days.

This Friday, May 13th, we are opening up our school cafeteria for visitors. If you would like to come and eat with your child(ren) that day at lunch, please see below for requirements and reminders. If you have any questions, please contact the front office.

• Arrive 5 minutes before your child's lunchtime to allow time to check in the front office.
• Bring your driver license to show the front office staff during check-in.
• We ask that parents do not travel through the lunch line for food.
• We will have specific tables set up for visitors to eat with their child(ren). Visitors will not be able to join the class lunch tables, and learners will not be able to bring over a friend(s) to eat with their parents.
• Per our CISD visitor policy, only legal guardians are able to visit during this time. Any other relatives would require prior written permission sent to the school/front office by parents.
• We ask that, due to space available in our cafeteria, only 1-2 visitors attend.
• Visitors will only be able to travel from the office to the cafeteria and then back. The visit will not be able to extend to the classroom or playground after lunch.
• Hallway bathrooms are for our TCE learners only, please visit the front office if you need access to the adult bathrooms

It is time for our TCE families to complete the spring Panorama Survey. Below is the link for you to use. If there are any questions that do not apply to you, you can leave those blank. Our survey window will be open until May 13th. While these responses are helpful for the district to see an overall picture, it is also helpful to us as a campus. Our administration team is able to view family responses to see both strengths of our campus and areas of growth that we can help support. Thank you in advance for participating.

Another volunteer opportunity within the PTO is the role of Auditor. We are looking for a volunteer to complete an audit of the 2021-2022 room parent and general accounts during the month of September to be presented to the executive board. This role typically would not take more than 6-8 hours and can be completed over an entire month. The Coppell ISD Education Foundation invites you to join us for our 10th Annual Run to Fund taking place on Saturday, May 7 at Andy Brown East. The event includes a 5K, a one-mile fun run, and a sleep-in option. Remember, $2 from every Run to Fund race entry will be contributed to the PE Department of the school of your choice. A big thank you to our families for communicating positive student Covid cases to us. In order to help streamline the communication process for both families and our campus nurse, please fill out the following Google Form if your child receives a positive Covid-19 test. Once our nurse has received the form from a family, she will reach out to them during school hours to discuss a return date to school and any questions they may have.
