Update January 12, 2022
Dear WONDERFUL NMFA FAMILIES,
After the COLD temperatures we have had, today has felt like a heat wave!!
Today, we have an important State Wide meeting with the MN Department of Health and other COVID Coordinators and School Nurses. We are anticipating getting updated guidance about COVID. With all of the information in the news it is difficult for all of us to know what to do or what to believe. We will share updated information with you in the best way we can!
With COVID swirling around, please continue to screen your children for any symptoms daily. If you are not sure what to do, please call us at 651-300-6300 to talk to our COVID Coordinator, Jessaca Karg. We also have rapid COVID tests available on site. We are strongly encouraging vaccinations for anyone who can be vaccinated! We will continue to practice many layered mitigation strategies on the bus and at school each day.
THANK YOU for those of you who have returned the RE-ENROLLMENT packets for next year. Believe it or not, we are already planning for next year. It is important for us to plan for enrollment and staffing. So we start with all of you first! We also greatly appreciate referrals to our school. This week we have been getting many calls and tours scheduled for this year and next year. Please share with your friends and family about attending our school. If you did not receive the re-enrollment packet, please call us or tell your teachers you need them!
THANK YOU for those of you who have returned the short family survey. It should have come home last week on gold paper. We appreciate and value your input so we can improve our school for your students. If you have not completed it or have not received it, please turn it in or call to get another one sent home!
This week we started our NWEA MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) Testing. During the month of January, every grade level will be participating in MATH AND READING assessments in our computer lab. This will give us progress data to inform our classroom and small group instruction for the second half of our school year. Classrooms are doing various rewards to motivate students to take their time and do their best. We are encouraging them to improve their personal scores.
TUTORING after school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday started this week. If you missed out signing up your students, it is not too late. Students stay after school and then parents need to pick up at 5:00. Students are able to get an extra boost from our wonderful teachers!
Last week our Administrative team met with Terry Furlong, the NSP Mayor and Phil Baebenroth, our NSP Chief of Police, to discuss school and community safety protocols. Stay tuned for some changes and improvements in communication with the city of North St. Paul.
Next week, January 19, 2022 at 5:00 we will have our January School Board Meeting. Everyone is invited to attend either in person or virtually. At 6:00 there will be the Annual Meeting where the Annual Report and World's Best Work Force Report will be shared. Please join us!
Stay well...be safe, kind, responsible and HONEST!

TO REQUEST A COVID 19 AT-HOME TEST
Good Afternoon Families/Buenas tardes familias
Currently, as you may all know- there is a limited supply of at home tests within the state of Minnesota. To help combat this and to keep track of how fast we are utilizing these rapid tests- we are implementing a new system for requesting a test. We are asking that families use this form to request tests for each of their students when needed. We will send home the appropriate tests needed per enrolled students per family. Up until this point we were able to provide tests for families, however due to limited supplies we can now only provide them for students. Please save the link below:
You can also find this form on our website under Current Families- COVID Coordinator.
Thank you!

¡Gracias!
DECISION TREE
This is what we refer to at school to make decisions on students staying home and or testing positive for Covid19. We ask that you use this at home as well. Just a reminder to all families if your student is testing positive or is in need of isolating at home due to close contact that you contact the school for next steps and your students return date.
