CELEBRATIONS!
Great things are happening at WCS!
Maddie Greene represented the WCS 7th grade at Monday's school board meeting this week. She answered questions about the PBIS video shorts that the grade has been working on as part of their Tech Wednesdays. The meeting can be viewed by CLICKING HERE. We are so proud of you Maddie! Thank you for walking the Woolwich Way!
SPELLING BEE
On Monday February 13, Mitchell Doak and Rory Leeman will be representing WCS in the next round of the Scripps National Spelling Bee. This round is a County Spelling Bee and will be hosted at Woodside Elementary School at 4:00 pm in the Learning Commons. All are invited to attend in support of our champions. Join us in wishing them well at this next round of competition!
3RD GRADE SWIM LESSONS
Mrs. Keefe's third grade class will begin their 5 week swim program next Wednesday (2/8.) Students will be swimming at the Bath Area YMCA each Wednesday until March 15th.
STAY WARM
TECH WEDNESDAYS
7th graders are exploring digital storytelling on Tech Wednesdays. Their latest project involved creating PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Support) videos highlighting students showing excellent expected behaviors around the school, and teachers and PTA members displaying unexpected and incorrect behavior. Scratch the Wildcat mascot even makes an appearance in several videos! These videos will be available soon on the Digital Storytelling Google Site.
ATTENTION PARENTS OF 8th GRADERS:
THE AUCTION IS COMING!
The annual 8th Grade Auction is happening on Saturday, April 1st (NO JOKE!!) This is the big fundraiser that helps our kids get to Washington, D.C. in June! Our 8th graders are on the move, soliciting donations from area businesses, who are always incredibly generous. Are you interested in donating to this great event? Are you a gardener, or baker, for example, and would like to donate services? Please contact the office at 443-9739.
KINDERGARTEN CAN DRIVE
Well, that title is just too fun to change!
The 100th day of school will fall on Thursday, 2/16 and the Kindergarten classes will be collecting canned food to celebrate! Kindergarten students in Mrs. Plummer's and Mrs. Sample’s classes are encouraged to bring in a can or two of non-perishable food to donate to the Bath Food Bank. Not only does this project help people in need, but it also provides many opportunities for math exploration (counting, sorting, grouping, etc.) Thank you for helping us celebrate the 100th day!
