Happy February CTE Families!
This month is going to be an exciting one for all of us! We have some opportunities for some new procedures for dropping students off and picking them up. Some suggestions have been made to our procedures to help ensure the safety of our students and also allow us to look into the transition for our 3rd-6th grades to be at the same building. These changes will tentatively begin on Monday, February 27, 2023. Here is a copy of the map that we are recommending to use. Please allow some time for this change to work its kinks out. Thank you so much for the support and flexibility with changes happening! If you have any questions, please call our office.

Early Childhood Role Models for 2023-24 school year
Circle Towanda is looking for peer models for our Early Childhood classroom!
What is a peer model? A peer model is a child who serves as a role model to the other students with special needs by demonstrating appropriate play, communication, and social skills.
Who can be a peer model? Children ages 3-5 are encouraged to apply. Your child must be 3.5 by Sept.1, and cannot be eligible for Kindergarten (turning 5 before Sept. 1).
What does the class cost? The only fee is CGE’s standard enrollment fee, which is $27.50 for the half-day program.
What is the process to become a peer model?
- Fill out an application (ask for one in the front office). Deadline is March 1, 2023.
- Attend a screening during March (details TBA).
- Eligible children will be randomly selected by a drawing for the 2023-24 school year and you will be notified by mail. Questions? Please contact Stefanie Sage, Early Childhood teacher at ssage@usd375.org or by calling the school office at 316-536-2728

Title 1 School Information
Did you know that Circle Towanda Elementary is a Title 1 School? This simply means we qualify for federal assistance that will pay for a Title 1 Teacher and Title 1 Para-professionals to work with children in small groups or even one-on-one. Your child may have the opportunity to receive services from a Title 1 teacher or Title 1 Paraprofessional during the day. The following list details ways that we may work with your child:
*Reading groups based upon students' individual needs
*Small group tutoring in math for skills covered in the classroom
*One-on-one pull out for intensive intervention in reading or math
*Services for kindergarten students needing support in letter and number recognition
*Reading group support as needed
As a Title 1 School, you have certain rights as a parent. Did you know that you may request the Title 1 teacher's credentials at any time? You may also request information regarding your child's performance on the state assessments. These results are usually available during the fall semester of the following school year.
As a Title 1 School, we need all parents to be aware there may come a time when we will work with your child during the school day. If you have any questions about this information, please contact Mrs. Dodd, Mrs. Gandee or Mrs. Mosier at 316-536-2728 or 316-536-2281. Thank You!
