We are so proud of you JN Fries Magnet Middle School! They received the coveted STEM Recognition from STEM Education and Leadership through NC Public Schools. JNFries went through the application process, hosted a site visit and was recognized at the "Prepared" Level. This recognition identifies and recognizes exemplary STEM Schools and STEM Programs. During the half day on October 24th, Coltrane Webb Elementary School incorporated an entire day to Robotics! It was exciting to witness students at all grade levels build, test, revise and race robots! Check out the pictures above!

Patriots Elementary, Coltrane Webb Elementary and JNFries Middle School participated in the 4-H National Youth Science Day’s “Rockets to the Rescue” experiment on Wednesday, October 8th! This event was sponsored by Cabarrus County 4-H. We would like to thank them for providing the idea and materials for the experiment. Students were charged with engineering a rocket that would reach a targeted destination. This fictitious yet relevant scenario asked students to reach a population and supply them with food and supplies after a natural disaster. Read more about the event here

We will be offering a STEM Vertical Alignment Professional Development session on November 4th. This will be a time to come together with teachers at the 4 STEM schools to collaborate. We will offer our session at CCHS.
