CSD Superintendent Update
WEEK #35, 5.20.22, Cambrian School District
Dear Cambrian Families,
It’s been a busy May, and it’s hard to believe we have reached the end of week #35 already. As you may know, May is Mental Health Awareness Month. I encourage you and your family to make some time for yourselves to recharge your internal batteries during this sometimes hectic season. Here are a few suggestions during your quiet time:
Go Outside: Go for a walk, ride, or sit in the yard. Enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.
Take A Break from Social Media: Whether 24 hours or 24 days, a social media detox can remove the unnecessary noise and the negative emotional triggers often caused by social platforms.
Connect with your loved ones: Be an active listener. If they signal any indication of needing help, let them know there are resources available.
Start a conversation with your family: The National Federation of Families has activity books, worksheets, and additional online resources for children and families.
Since it’s #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, let’s #breakthestigma and encourage anyone who needs help to seek help. After all, mental health affects us all. To find a mental health care provider who will help you through challenges you may be facing, contact #CareSolace, a complimentary and confidential mental health care coordination service provided by Cambrian School District at 888-515-0595 or www.caresolace.com/csd.
Thank you for your continued support of all things Cambrian. Our committed staff, students and families make Cambrian an extraordinary place to learn, play and grow.
Have a wonderful weekend!
AT LAST NIGHT’S SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
The Governing Board voted to approve the administrative position of Assistant Superintendent of Personnel for the Cambrian School District.

COVID UPDATE
We are seeing an increase in covid cases in our schools. As we learn to live with COVID, please remember to implement mitigating strategies that are appropriate for your family.
Mitigating Layers of Safety
Masks are highly recommended especially while inside and in crowded outdoor events.
Click this link from the CPHD for more details about masks.
Stay home if you're not feeling well and test for COVID. Allergies, colds, and COVID present with very similar symptoms. Don't assume -– monitor and test. We are seeing patterns of testing negative at the onset of symptoms and then positive 2 to 3 days later. It is highly recommended that if you are symptomatic, you test more than once, 2-3 days apart.
COVID CLINIC
In regard to the COVID Clinic in the district, please note community sign-up for testing is at the kiosk located at the District Office. (https://www.covidclinic.org/cambrian-school-district,)
Weekly onsite testing is available for staff and students. They can sign up here: http://school.covidclinic.org

SCHOOL BOARD OFFICE HOURS
Just a reminder that office hours for School Board members will be held next week, on Monday, May 23; 3-4 p.m. @ Price.

There will be two Board members attending each of the office hours, which will be informal in nature.

As you may know, the dangers of fentanyl have directly impacted many individuals across the state and nation, as well as right here in Santa Clara County and our local communities.
