Update - Boys Basketball Tryouts
Due to the number of boys trying out, tryouts will take place over the course of three days (October 23rd-25th). The 7th and 8th grade boys' tryouts will be split into two sessions on all three days.
- 7th grade tryouts will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. ALL 7th graders MUST be picked up from school by 5:30 p.m. Please plan to pick up your child at the bus lane near the gym.
- 8th grade tryouts will begin immediately after the 7th grade tryouts end. 8th grade students have the option to remain at school until it is time for their tryouts. If your child chooses to go home at dismissal, please make sure to drop him off at the gym by 5:30 p.m. ALL 8th graders MUST be picked up from school by 6:30 p.m. Please plan to pick up your child at the bus lane near the gym.
Please double-check to ensure your child's physical form and other documents are uploaded to Dragonfly and that it is approved. Your child can only try out with a completed and approved physical on file.

We are looking for basketball managers for the upcoming basketball season! If your son or daughter is interested in being a basketball manager for either the 7th or 8th grade team, please tell them to see Ms. Yu in room 374 for a basketball manager application.

A note from RMS PTSO!
Thank you to all of our generous families that have already joined PTSO! If you would like to support the RMS PTSO in its mission to support teachers and students, we are still accepting donations. If you have not had a chance to join yet, we are still trying to reach our budget goal of $9,500 in membership funds.
Why join RMS PTSO? PTSO depends primarily on donations from our RMS families to finance initiatives to support teachers and students. All funds raised go directly back to RMS. Your membership fee is your donation to the PTSO, and because we are a 501c3, your donation is tax deductible and eligible for corporate matching if your employer offers that benefit.
What if I don't have time to volunteer? That's ok! We will happily accept financial donations without any obligation to volunteer.
How will you use my donations? PTSO funds a variety of initiatives to support teachers and students. Our three big commitments this year are:
1) 22 new Chromebooks and a cart for student usage;
2) Teacher grants for educational supplies, club support, and school improvements;
3) Funding to support the PBIS rewards program.
To see a more detailed breakdown of how PTSO spends funds, you can view the 23/24 budget HERE.

Check Out Procedures and Identification Requirements
- No check outs will be processed after 3:30 PM.
- Students will only be released to a parent or adult listed in Infinite Campus. No student will be released to anyone under the age of 18.
- A government-issued identification is required to check out a student. We cannot accept a photograph of an identification in lieu of the identification itself. Parents/guardians will be asked to return with their official identification or make alternate arrangements for checking out the student.
