Open House
Kolmar’s Open House will be in person this year! Our Open House serves as a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and see the school. Be sure to stop in the gym to visit our interventionists, related services staff, PTA, and Cub Scouts. The book fair is also located in the gym. The date is this Thursday, September 2 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Hope to see you there!
Late Start (9/1)
There is a district-wide late start scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday, September 1). School will begin at 9:30 a.m. for children in K-5. Our morning Pre-K students will attend from 9:45–11:45 a.m. and the afternoon students will be in session from 12:45 p.m–2:45 p.m..
Arrival and Dismissal
Please be sure to use caution when dropping students off and picking students up from school. Remember that the circle drive in front of the school should only be used as a pull through. Parents and family members should not park in the drive and walk with their children to the door. Also, parents dropping students off or picking students up at door 10 should use extra caution around our buses. It is very helpful if parents access this door driving around from Kenneth Ave. to Kilborn Ave. Driving from Kenneth Ave. to Kilborn Ave. will ensure traffic flows in one direction.
Cub Scouts
Calling all Cub Scouts! Be sure to stop by the Cub Scouts table at the Open House. You could win a prize! If you miss us that night, there will be a kickoff/sign-up meeting in the Map room on September 16th at 6:30 p.m.
Health Forms
Please be advised that all required health forms are due to the nurse, Mrs. Julie Reppen, by October 15th. All kindergarteners must have an eye exam; Illinois state physical, and immunization records. All students new to the district must turn in the Illinois state physical and immunization records. Failure to turn in the required documents by October 15th will result in the student being excluded until all health documents are received.
Lunch Supervisor Vacancies
We are currently looking for lunch supervisors to help students during lunch and recess. Please let me know if your are interested. Applications are available on the D123 homepage.
6 K for Water
D123 is hosting a World Vision 6K in support of helping children in Africa gain access to clean water. The event will take place at OLHMS and is scheduled for September 19th at 9:00 a.m. You may also visit the website for more information: teamworldvision.org/d123
Technology Insurance
Technology insurance is available for purchase through Skyward Family Access or by contacting the main office. The policy has a $25 deductible and protects against accidental damage, theft, fire, floods, and natural disasters. Families are able to enroll until September 30.
Wellness Reminder
Please remember that we need your help in keeping our Kolmar Community safe and healthy. If your child is not feeling well or has a fever, aches, coughing, or other signs of illness, please keep them home!
