6th- 12th grade Open House
Rather than scheduling meetings for grades 6-12, we would like to invite you to come to school to meet with your student's teachers whenever is most convenient during the following time blocks:
8am-11am
12pm-3pm
4pm-7pm
The open-house style will allow you to meet with as many of your student's teachers as you are able, as well as work around scheduled conferences if you have a younger student also attending Vanguard. Thank you for your continued support of our community, and we look forward to seeing you on Monday, February 13th.
*Please note: There will be no STARS Kid Care on Monday, February 13th, 2023
Staff Appreciation During Conferences
It is a Vanguard tradition to ask our families to help us in making sure our teachers and staff have meals, snacks and drinks for the day! Help us show our hardworking staff how much they are loved by the VCS community!
Please sign up if you are able to donate food for Parent Teacher Conferences happening on Monday, February 13th.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Carline
Carline Procedures
Take a moment to look over the general Carline rules. There are approximately 720 students who are being dropped off and picked up at the same time, be patient. Though you may feel inconvenienced at times by our system, it is in place to keep your child(ren) safe. We ask that you respect these procedures as well as the people who are stationed out at carline. Please make it your priority to value and respect your VCS Staff, be kind to the people who are here everyday for your children. Your cooperation will ensure safety for everyone in our community. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Drop Off (7:20am-7:45am):
- Drop your child(ren) off in our Driveway Loop in front of the school. It is not safe to stop or park on Ohio Drive, this also causes traffic to get backed up.
Pick Up 3:20pm-3:45pm:
- Left turns into the parking lot during drop-off/pick-up times are NOT allowed. Approach the entrance from the EAST. If you attempt to turn left, you will be directed to drive past the entrance to turn around.
- DO NOT PARK your car or get out of your car while in our Driveway Loop.
- We should only have ONE lane of cars on Ohio Drive entering our Driveway, once in our loop we will form two lanes.
- Please do not block access to the surrounding apartment complexes by parking your car in their entrances or exits.
- Drive Slow, this is a school zone during Drop Off and Pick Up

Kids Heart Challenge!
3rd - 6th grade Heart Challenge
Click here to participate in KHC
Vanguard Classical School - East Campus has kicked off the American Heart Association’s KIDS HEART CHALLENGE (KHC) with students watching THIS KHC VIDEO to meet this year’s Heart Heroes and bring home information about Kids Heart Challenge.
Our campus goal is to raise $3,000.00 in donations to fight heart diseases and stroke and have 100% of families learn hands-only CPR.
Bonus Fun!
Students who are registered and have an online donation by Monday will be entered into a drawing with other students across the country for a Large Squishmallow or a $50 Amazon Gift Certificate and earn some of this year’s Heart Heroes!
Your students can earn this year’s heart heroes by registering on www.heart.org/khc or downloading the Kids Heart Challenge app! Your family can learn hands only CPR by starting Finn’s Mission after your register!

Dress Code
Why We Enforce Dress Code
At times, having a uniform policy may seem strict or unnecessary, but it is mandatory. Students and parents all agree to the VCS uniform policy when they join our school. There are many benefits to having a uniform:
- Our dress code supports an educational atmosphere where a high academic standard is the focus. We are not a traditional school, we strive to be better and our students are held to a higher standard.
- Uniforms ‘democratize’ the classroom and encourage students to focus on their studies rather than their clothes.
- Uniforms “level the playing field", it helps prevent bullying based on appearance or economic background.
- Unifoms increase student safety and make it easier to spot a stranger on campus.
- Uniforms increase a feeling of belonging within the student body, but also reminds them that they have come to school to work.
Please click on the following link to review our Dress Code Policy:
Food Deliveries for Students
*Student Food Deliveries: We do not allow outside deliveries of any kind to our school. We also discourage parents from dropping off food unless it is in a lunchbox. This is for the overall safety of our campus and to prevent distruptions to our learning environment.
If food is ordered from Grubhub, DoorDash, UberEats, etc., it will not be given to the student. Please make your students aware of this policy. (If a student has a dietary restriction or food based medical need as diagnosed by a doctor then a parent may provide food items that fulfill the health or dietary need outline in the medical documentation.)
*VCS wishes to make sure that all students feel included, therefore we encourage families to include all students if birthday party invitations are passed out at school. If you plan on bringing in food for your student's birthday, communicate with the classroom teacher first. Food should primarily be store bought and in individual packaging. There may be certain dietary restrictions that need to be taken in to consideration.
As always, we appreciate our wonderful families!
