Bethel the Beautiful
September 24, 2023
THANK YOU!! 💙
Thank you for the great turn out at Open House last week! It was so fun having our big, Bethel family under one roof!! Also, thanks to our PTO for hosting the first Back to School bash on Friday! We will make some adjustments for next time, but the kids had a wonderful time!!
Dress Up Opportunities
We have some optional, but fun things planned for our staff, and we would love to have your students be involved too!
Tuesday, September 26th-- Football day-- We are scoring a Touchdown and celebrating all the successes we've had so far this year! Students can wear their football jerseys to support their favorite teams!
Wednesday, September 27th - It's National Milk Day! We will be wearing cow print to celebrate!! 🐮
Chocolate and More Chocolate🍫
Thank you for the continued sales during our Chocolate fundraiser!! We truly appreciate your help and are excited about how well it's going so far!! You have until October 4th to get more chocolate and the last day to turn in Chocolate money is October 10th, so keep on selling! Thanks a bunch!!
Lockdown Drill this Friday
This Friday, September 29th, we will have our first lockdown drill of the year. Our teachers will be talking to your children about where they go and how they are quiet during the drill. We try to make this the least scary situation possible for our students. For our kindergarteners, (and all of our students), our teachers do a fantastic job of making them feel safe and not scared. Please tell your kindergarteners who have never done this before, that on Friday they will have a short time when they will have to be quiet and that it is just something we are required to do. They always do a great job and it doesn't last long. Thanks for talking to your students and if you have any questions, please let me know!
After School Update
Thanks to all of you after school parents that were able to pick their children up or had someone to pick them up last Tuesday and Thursday! We really appreciated it! One thing I have learned is that after school is under the jurisdiction of the DCDEE and they are very strict, (as they should be), with their rules and guidelines. We are continuing to try to hire another worker or two. If you are interested, please call me at 646-3448. If you are able to pick your child up on Tuesday and Thursday again this week, that would be so helpful!! I know you aren't getting this until Monday evening late, so no worries, but with being short staffed on these days, it never hurts to ask. Thanks!!
Bible Club
This Thursday, September 28th, is our first day of Bible Club after school. Students will receive a permission slip to attend. (If they didn't get it today, they will get it tomorrow). Because the permission slip has important information on it, it is required to send in by Thursday morning in order to stay after school. If your child turns in their permission slip and plans to attend, please write "Bible Club" in their agenda books so the teacher will know. Bethel Baptist sponsors this every Thursday and always do a great job! Students will be meeting in the auditorium this year. If one of your children are attending, but your other child (children) are not, please make sure the ones not attending know so they won't worry when they are not on the buses. Thanks!!
