We hope everyone is enjoying their summer break. The Nest is being prepared to welcome your children later this month. Thank you to our custodial staff for all their hard work! As we get ready to begin the school season, I want to share some important updates with you. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to our school office at (915) 937-4600.
School Supply Lists
All school supply lists have been posted on our website and can be found below.
Spirit Shirts and Hoodies
All students are required to wear a school uniform. The dress code policy can be found below. School spirit shirts will be allowed to be worn ANY day of the week. We will have spirit shirts available for purchase starting on Thursday, July 27 during Open House and we will also be taking orders for shirts and hoodies. Spirit shirts will cost $15.00. Only cash will be accepted.
Open House
Join us on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. for our Open House. Elementary students can come out and meet their teachers and we highly encourage you to bring in your school supplies at this time so that the first day of school runs smoothly. Our Middle school students will be have the opportunity to Walk their Schedule.
First Day of School Information
The first day of school is Monday, July 31, 2023. The tardy bell rings at 7:45. Parents of students in grades PreK through 3rd grade will be allowed into the school on the first day to take their child to class. To ensure our teachers have a place to park, please park in the parking lot by the park. We will continue to provide all students with Breakfast in the Classroom from 7:30 -7:45.
Office Hours
Our office hours effective July 10 will be Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Our office staff is ready to serve you should you have any questions.

Sports Corner
- Mandatory Fall UIL Parent Meeting for all Athletes that will play Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Football, Cheer and Cross-Country on Thursday, August 10th at 5:30pm in the Cafeteria.
- All Athletes must have a current SISD Physical Form 20/20 to participate in Practice (forms can be picked up in the front office)
- All parents and Athletes MUST complete the online RankOneSport to participate in Practice
- 1st Day of tryouts will be on Tuesday, August 1st at 3:45pm in the gym (Soccer, Baseball, and Softball)
- Make sure to come prepare to practice (personal water container, sunscreen and proper footwear)
- All physicals must be turned in to Ms. Renovato in Room 309
Baseball and Softball games will be held on Wednesdays. 7th grade will play at 5:30. 8th grade will play at 7:30
Soccer games will be played on Saturdays. 7th grade will play at 9:00. 8th grade will play at 10:30.

Campus Dress Code Policy
To maintain an orderly environment conducive to the attainment of the education mission of the Socorro ISD, all students shall be required to conform to Jane Hambric School’s Uniform/Dress Code Policy. Students may not wear clothing with logos or endorsements.
***Not having a clean uniform is not an acceptable excuse***
PreKinder students dress code:
- Monday-Thursday students must wear Docker-style pants, shorts, or skirts (navy blue, khaki or black) with a Hambric polo (baby blue)
- Jeans may only be worn on Fridays, with a Hambric polo (baby blue) or Hambric Spirit
Kinder thru 8th Grade
Shirts:
- Polo shirts with or without the Jane Hambric logo (white, maroon, old gold, or royal blue only).
- Hambric Spirit shirts.
- Turtlenecks, shirts, etc. worn underneath school uniform shirts MUST be a solid color.
Pants:
- REGULAR, unadorned Docker-style navy, black- or khaki- colored slacks. Black jeans are NOT permitted.
- Slacks must NOT be torn, excessively baggy, have manufactured holes, skintight, have designs, carpenter style, or altered in any way. All pants must sit at the waist and may not be rolled up.
- Monday – Thursday students must wear Docker-style pants with a Hambric polo or Hambric spirit shirt.
- College shirts may be worn on Thursdays with Docker-style uniform pants.
- JEANS may only be worn on Fridays. Jeans may be worn with a Hambric polo shirt or Hambric spirit shirt.
- Jeans should not be torn, ripped, or have any holes in them.
- Leggings cannot be worn under torn jeans.
- Leggings, Sweatpants, and athletic pants are not permitted.
Shorts/Skirts:
- Navy blue, khaki or black. Basketball shorts are not permitted.
- Length must not be shorter than 3 inches above the knee all around.
- Solid colored leggings or tights may be worn under shorts or skirts.
Coats/Jackets/ Sweatshirts/Sweaters:
- Any style coat/jacket will be permitted to be worn outside.
- Only solid colored or zipper front and pullover sweatshirts/hoodies with the Jane Hambric or El Dorado High School logo will be allowed in the building. Hoodies from high schools, other than El Dorado, are not permitted.
- Hoods may not be on overhead inside the building or classroom.
Shoes:
- No CROCS, SLIDES, flip flops, shower shoes, or sandals without back strap, or house slippers.
Other Items:
- Bandanas are NOT permitted.
- Torn clothing is NOT permitted.
- Sunglasses are NOT permitted to be worn in the building.
- Hats, caps, or other head coverings are NOT permitted to be worn in the building.
Game Days:
- Students may wear their Hambric jersey on Game Days with uniform pants. Jeans are not permitted.
Free Dress Days:
Free dress can only be designated by the Administration.
- Midriff shirts are NOT permitted.
- Crop tops are NOT permitted.
- Torn jeans are NOT permitted.
- Spaghetti straps are NOT permitted.
- Shorts, skirts, or dresses that are shorter than 3 inches above the knee are NOT permitted.
- Leggings are NOT permitted.
Body Piercing:
- The only pierced body parts allowed to be adorned are the ears. NO GAUGES/ TAPERS. No facial or body piercings permitted. Band aids may not be used to cover piercings.
Hair:
- Natural colored hair only. No rainbow colors. No colored braids.
- NO SHAVED HEAD/CARVED DESIGNS. NO MOHAWKS.
- No highlights that resemble designs or unnatural coloring.
- No colored extensions or braids.
- No do-rags, baseball caps, hats or head beanies are permitted inside the building.
