Our 100th day of school is set for Monday, February 6th! To celebrate this year, we are encouraging students and teachers to create a t-shirt that displays 100 things/items. Some ideas to use as decorations are stickers, googly eyes, fabric paint, cotton balls, buttons, pom-poms, safety pins, stamps, etc. The lighter weight the item, the easier it is to glue, stick, or attach 100 things to the shirt. Please also remember that your child will be wearing the 100 things all day (it will get very uncomfortable to wear 100 heavy things like pennies or crayons on a t-shirt.) Fabric paint is an excellent decoration because it is lightweight and doesn’t fall off. Have fun creating any shirt that you would like with 100 items on it. Please have your child wear their shirt on Monday, February 6th as we celebrate the 100th day of school!

The flyer below was sent home with students last week. This is a voluntary project but we would love everyone to participate. If you are unable to do a real t-shirt design, students can design the paper copy t-shirt that also went home last week.

In STEM, the 4th grader students were introduced to a unit on energy and collision. This module begins with three fictional characters at an amusement park observing bumper cars. Through the example of the bumper cars, students are introduced to energy transfer and conversion in collisions. The students apply new skills and knowledge to solve a design problem where they are asked to design and build a restraint system to protect a passenger in a vehicle collision. The passenger is represented by an EGG. The vehicle rolls down an inclined plane and collides with a solid object such as a wall. Check out all their awesome seatbelts for the passenger, the EGG! It was a messy experiment, but if the EGG didn't survive the crash, they had to go back and fix their design to save the EGG!

Last week, East Fallowfield was fortunate to welcome the Art Goes to School program. Every classroom had a visit where they learned about different forms of art. It's like the art museum was brought into the classroom. Art Goes to School of Delaware Valley is a non-profit volunteer organization that began in 1962. Their mission is make fine art accessible to elementary school students. We are so thankful for this partnership.

Each Friday on the morning announcements, we have our Eagle Eye Ticket Drawing to celebrate good bus behavior. The prizes vary from week to week and this week's prize was a free ice cream coupon. Congratulations to last week's winners. Keep SOARing!

It's time to order your yearbooks! Our online ordering is available and we will be sending out paper order forms when we receive them from the company.

Our next PTO meeting will be Wednesday, February 8 at 7:00 pm. You can join us in-person in the library or via Zoom.

Candy Grams are back for the month of February. All orders are due by February 6th and each candy gram is $1.00 each. The order form is below for your reference but hard copies also went home with students today.

Registration for Coatesville Youth Lacrosse for Spring 2023 is open and will close on February 3.

Welcoming any and all boys and girls grades K-8 looking to learn and love the game of lacrosse. New players of all ages are welcome!

Spring Season begins mid-March. Lacrosse clinics and winter training are also available.

Due to the snow day on Thursday, December 15, 2022, Coatesville Area School District will be utilizing its first snow makeup day. The district will be in session for students and staff on February 17, 2023. We will not be adjusting any end of marking period or trimester dates and grade reporting will remain as scheduled.

This year at East Fallowfield we are revamping our PBIS program and focusing on our Big East Expectations of Safety, Ownership, Acceptance and Respect. Last week, students had the opportunity to learn what these expectations look like, sound like, and feel like in different areas around the school including the classroom, cafeteria, playground, bus, hallway, and bathrooms.

Students are so excited to be rewarded for meeting these expectations with Class Dojo points. Parents please be sure to accept the Class Dojo invite from your child's teacher so you can track the great work they are doing in class.
