Halloween Reminders
As we prepare for the fun and festivities of Halloween, we wanted to send a few reminders:
- Parents are encouraged to supply candy for their child only.
- Students can wear their costumes all day.
- Students will participate in a costume parade in the afternoon. (Due to limited space, this is for staff and students only.)
- If parents bring baked items for a class, an ingredient list is required.
- Please keep in mind that we are a faith-based school. Costumes should be appropriate for a Catholic school environment (no toy weapons, gore etc.) Should you need any clarification in this area, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Therefore, we will be offering the option of in-person interviews which will take place November 7th, and 8th, or virtual/phone interviews to be held on November 8th only. Please see your email for information on scheduling your parent teacher interview.
Thank you again to the 148 parents who responded! Your feedback is so important to us as we work collaboratively to make decisions!

School Emergency Response Plan
Schools are considered to be one of the safest places in our communities. However, in reality, an emergency can happen. During an emergency, our #1 priority is the safety of our students and staff. We strongly encourage your to familiarize yourself with our Emergency Response Plan page on our website. Here is the link for your reference: Emergency Response Plan.
On this page and the links within it, you will find the following:
- An explanation of our Safety Protocols
- A video outlining our Emergency Response Plan
- Our School Emergency Program
We are providing a Parent Summary below, as well, with key information. It is very important that all parents understand our processes in the event of an emergency. Please pay particular attention to the Parent-Child Reunification Procedures below and reach out to us should you have any questions.
School Council News
Please join us next month for a special School Council meeting! Shelley Odishaw, Vice-President of the Alberta School Council Association (ASCA) will be joining us to present on her role and how we can better serve our community as a School Council.
Who is ASCA? "ASCA was founded in 1929 and their role has evolved to promote and support strong school communities with effective school councils as a means to facilitate collaborations among education partners, including parents, to enhance student learning."
We are very excited to welcome Shelley to our next meeting and hope you can join us, November 29th @1:30 PM.
HOT LUNCH:
The November Hot Lunch menu has been posted and completed. If you missed ordering for November hot lunches, please watch for updates in December! The Hot Lunch team has some very fun treats planned in addition to regular lunches.
Every month our Hot Lunch Committee will be asking volunteers from different grades for parent volunteers to help pick-up and hand out lunches. In November we're asking for parents/guardians from the Grade 1 classes to help execute our program.
Please see Loretta Zolinski at the office for steps on completing a criminal check with our RCMP. This is a required step to volunteer at the school and is at no cost to our volunteers. Keep in mind, it takes about one week turnaround time to receive the appropriate documentation from the RCMP station.
If you have questions or would like to volunteer, we would love to hear from you! Please contact your lunch committee at: eolrshotlunches@gmail.com. Thank you for supporting the hot lunch initiative.
