Smashing Into Construction Phase 1 at CHS
Centralia High School has officially - and literally - smashed into phase 1 of construction on the remodeling project at the school! A "wallbreaking" ceremony was held on Thursday, September 27 with staff, students, and community members present. A special wall was constructed for the event, which was smashed with golden colored sledgehammers. CSD Board members, district and school officials, and selected students were given an opportunity to take a swing at the wall.
Because the project is a remodeling, or re-imagining, of the existing facility, the District felt that a wallbreaking ceremony was more fitting than a groundbreaking ceremony with shovels and dirt. Click here to read more about the CHS wallbreaking ceremony...

A New Look For Quick News- and More!
You've probably noticed that our CSD Quick News e-newsletter has a new look this week. We're pretty excited about it! The new format is part of a series of new communications tools that will be rolling out over the next several weeks. We have already begun a tiered roll-out of a new auto-dialer system that we hope should result in more efficient communication with parents - including the new ability to send SMS text messages.
We will also soon unveil a brand new CSD smartphone app! Parents and teachers will be able to communicate with ease, parents will have fingertip access to student information, and notifications about school delays or closures will be easier than ever to receive. Keep alert for a notice from your child's school about how and when you can download that app.

Our ability to communicate effectively relies heavily on having correct contact information. This is a great opportunity for parents to make sure their phone numbers and email addresses are correct in Skyward. Your child's school office staff can help you with this.
