Grief Support Group: Healing Hearts
Healing Hearts is a free 8-week grief support group provided by Community Health Network aimed at helping students in MSD of Warren Township Schools learn to deal with any death of a special person. Services are focused on supporting students in telling their story, expressing feelings, using coping skills, and addressing unfinished business. Every child’s experience is unique, resulting in a range of responses that can span across academic, behavioral, emotional, spiritual, and physical facets. By proactively providing grief support and education to children and adolescents, we may successfully prevent the need for long-term support services or mental health treatment.
Groups are going to be a hybrid format, with the option to meet in person and/or virtually, and will be for 1 hour each week. Andrew Robbins, Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Warren Central, and Stormy Royse, Life Skills Clinician at Lowell Elementary, are the facilitators for the MSD of Warren Township Healing Hearts groups.
The first group for Warren Central starts this upcoming Monday (11/2) and will run for 8 weeks. If you would like to be a part of the next group starting in January, please reach out to your school counselor for more information!
Advice from your Academic Coaches.....
1. FINISH strong! Remember, you can turn in any missing work for FULL credit! I would suggest writing down THREE missing assignments per class and tackling those after you complete your daily work. Do this until you have made them all up!
2. SHARE your success! Tell me what is WORKING! What are you proud of today? How can your experiences help someone else? REPLY and let me know!
3. SUPPORT one another! How can we further support you? What are some ways you have supported others? Life can be overwhelming, but I have resources to assist you! Please let me know so that I can put those opportunities in place.
THANK YOU for being YOUR BEST, doing YOUR BEST and giving YOUR BEST!
