This week we have an adjusted schedule for parent- teacher conferences.These conferences are an excellent opportunity for families to meet with teachers to discuss their child’s progress. During conferences, teachers share about individual student growth and get the opportunity to learn from families to support their child’s learning better!

• Elementary conferences will be held on October 11th & 12th in the evening (4-7:30pm) and on October 13th in the afternoon (12:30-3:30pm).
• Conferences are generally 10-15 minutes per student.Conferences can be held virtually or in person. Please contact your child's teacher if you'd like a virtual conference.

SCHOOL HOURS:

• October 11th & 12th (Wednesday and Thursday) - School will be closed in the morning. Students will begin 4 hours later than usual. Classes begin at 12:45pm. Lunch will be served.
• October 13th (Friday) - School will open on time but dismiss 3 ½ hours early. The school day ends at 11:45am. Breakfast and lunch will be served.

We will be welcoming a new Lewistown front office secretary in November. Please be patient with our front office during this time. We will have several staff rotating through the office to complete required tasks and we may need a little extra time to complete requests. Thank you!

Here are a few office updates that will assist during this transition:

• Be prepared to show proper identification for entrance into the school building or picking up your child (includes the health room)
• Send in a note if your child will have a change in dismissal procedures and limit call in changes.
  
• If you are dropping off students late or picking up early, please share the reason for this change (dr. appointment, sick, etc.).

Attendance: Please use the LEW.Attendance@fcps.org link to report your child's absence. The front office accesses this link for absences. You may copy your child's teacher as well!

This past month students received a counseling lesson on being kind. We read, “The Jelly Donut Difference” by Maria Dismondy and made a kindness display for parent/teacher conferences.
