Akwasi Amankwaah - Community Impact Coordinator
Akwasi Amankwaah is a results-oriented development practitioner and Human Resources Management with over 20 years of working experience. He has expertise in Policy Partnerships Development and Charity work.
Team-minded Coordinator with over 15 years of comprehensive experience performing administrative support duties to help office run smoothly. Versed in maintaining up-to-date files, preparing, and recording invoices and initiating and managing payroll. Hardworking professional knowledgeable in office management and bookkeeping procedures.
Resourceful Coordinator possessing outstanding prioritization, multitasking, and planning abilities to juggle responsibilities. Systematic and methodical professional offering 15 years of hands-on experience handling various administrative duties and tasks in office setting.
Commended and recognized for meticulous work with children development agenda and gender empowerment especially the girl child.
Akwasi has a lot of experience working with governmental bodies, United Nations (UN) agencies, African Union (AU), International and local NGOs and ECOWAS on policy, human rights, gender development and child protection issues.

Brandy Murray - Communication and Engagement Coordinator
Brandy is a native of Rocky Mount; attended Rocky Mount High School and continued her education at Winston-Salem State University majoring in Political Science. She has an advocacy background in food insecurity and equitable education. Her most current research highlights educational disparities caused by housing inequities and food access.
Brandy received her M.Div from Wake Forest University. She is a theologian specializing in Hip Hop Theology, African Spirituality, and Intergenerational worship. This past year, she has worked with NC Council of Churches helping faith communities across the state acquire grants to sustain or launch health centered ministries. She has a passion to uplift the community through building bonds, bridging cultural gaps, and sustaining programs through obtaining support.
She brings to the team over 8 years of communications experience with a specialization in social media and data management. Brandy comes to STEP (Strategic Twin Counties Education Partnership) with a mission to cultivate new relationships, strengthen current ones and promote the mission of the organization.

Twin-Counties STEM Design Challenge
Students in grades 6-8 are challenged to build an object using K’Nex, a versatile, creative construction product. Based on a selected novel, the team’s challenge is to design and build a moving motorized structure. Each STEM teams is sponsored by a local industry/company. The teams have been collaborating with consulting engineers from their sponsor company on their design and engineering concepts since January.
