Otter Creek Academy Connection
September 1, 2023
Dear Otter Creek Academy Families,
Good Morning OCA Families,
What a great first week here at school. It started off a little wet but ended up being some great weather. We really focused on routines and community building this week at OCA. I talked to our students about our three school agreements at our all school circle:
-We are Safe
-We are Kind
-We are Responsible
We will practice these agreements throughout the year and make sure our school is a great place to learn and play!
Other Announcements:

We will be sending out a poster with all the information in the coming week which will answer all your questions. It was a hit last year! Thank you Ms Landon!

From the OCA Library
Dear OCA Families,
I hope that you had an enjoyable summer! I spent a LOT of the summer reading –my favorite thing to do!
I thought to start the year, I’d share some of the recent titles I really enjoyed (See Mrs. Bodin's Summer Reads below). These books can all be found at our OCA Library. Many of these I’ll share with students during the year.
If you want more information about any of these titles, please go ahead and click HERE where I’ve included my review of each book and more information, such as the book’s intended audience, reading levels & awards received.
We have so many avid readers at OCA! I can’t wait to see what they’ll enjoy this year.
All my best to everyone as we begin a new year!
Mrs. Bodin
School Librarian
Additional Four Winds Information
The commitment is about 5 hours a month and there a total of 5 trainings. Generally you work with a teacher to give the lesson that you were trained on.It is a great way for you to work with your class and be a part of our nature-based programming. I will be helping out too and volunteering with the PreK-4 group at Whiting.
Even if you cannot make the first meeting you can still join!
Click here for the volunteer information.
