A MESSAGE FROM MRS. CAUDILL
This week I had the honor and privilege of attending and presenting at the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association (MEMSPA) State Conference. The conference was an incredible experience, bringing together educational leaders from across the state to collaborate, learn, and inspire one another. The sessions were packed with valuable information and innovative ideas that I am eager to bring back to Amerman.
One of the highlights for me was the keynote speaker, Beth Hauff, who delivered a powerful message on the importance of fostering a positive and inclusive school culture. Their insights resonated deeply with me, and I am excited to explore new ways to enhance our school environment, ensuring that every student feels valued and supported. My favorite quote from her was, "The kids you serve are someone’s whole world".
Besides presenting at breakout session myself with the other Northville Elementary Principals, I also had the opportunity to participate in workshops focused on the latest trends in education, including cutting-edge teaching strategies, technology integration, and social-emotional learning.
As we head into the winter break, I am energized and inspired by the possibilities that lie ahead for our school. The knowledge gained from the MEMSPA State Conference will undoubtedly contribute to our continuous improvement and commitment to providing the best education for our students.
Stay well,
Devon Caudill

WELCOME NEW PARAPROFESSIONALS!
Marlon Hengtgen - RR Para
I've spent a majority of my adult life working with kids, as I've always said that children are mirrors into ourselves. I greatly look forward to helping Northville's youth grow into their full potential.
A few things about myself: I'm a huge psychology nerd, love going outdoors, and am an avid admirer of all forms of art. I've seen hundreds of movies, listened to thousands of songs, and I'm obsessed with drawing. The human mind is a beautiful thing, and nothing fascinates me more than seeing its products of creation.
Brenna Wayne - LC Para
I went to Michigan State for my undergraduate degree (Go Green!) and for the past two years I’ve been in San Diego getting my master’s degree in International Affairs. Many of you know my dad Dave Wayne who teaches 5th grade here!
While my background isn’t in education, I’ve always loved working with kids in swim lessons, tutoring, and after school programs. Some fun facts about me are I have a cat named Lavender, I love K-pop, and I’m a huge foodie.
YOUNG 5'S - KINDERSTANGS - FALL 2024
Get ready for an educational adventure as Northville Public Schools introduces a Young 5's Program, launching in Fall 2024! Geared towards ensuring kindergarten readiness for our little learners, this tuition-free program is designed to boost academic, social, language, and fine motor skills. It will be a five-day-a-week program that serves as a bridge between preschool and typical kindergarten. These classrooms will be for students born between July 1, 2019-December 1, 2019.
Enrollment for our new Young 5's Program will open January 2024. We have posted several helpful documents on our Young 5's website including Frequently Asked Questions, Early Learners Program Comparison, and Kindergarten Readiness.
Please complete our Interest Survey if you would like to receive additional information in the spring and instructions for enrollment.

MOM PROM!
Join Winchester Elementary School moms to raise funds for Northville Youth Network while Having a Great Time!
The moms of Winchester Elementary are throwing their 2nd annual Mom Prom! Grab some friends, gather your gowns, put on a dress (old or new!) and join in for a fun night of fundraising. Northville Youth Network is thrilled to be the recipient of this year’s proceeds that will support programs and services for Northville children and families. PTA NEWS YOU CAN USE!
Upcoming Pistons Assembly and Pistons Game!
The PTA is proud to announce a new partnership with the Detroit Pistons! On January 19th, all Amerman students will experience a basketball-themed, character-building in-school assembly and a visit from the Pistons mascot Hooper! To accompany this assembly, we will also have Pistons tickets for sale in a block for a Family Basketball Game Night held on February 4th. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for details!
Class Directory Now Available!
The PTA & Amerman staff worked together to complete a full digital directory of all Amerman families (minus those who opted out). Our hope is that this will make it easier to contact families for parties, play dates, and any communication needed with classmates. This is an exclusive PTA perk - all families are included in the directory regardless of PTA involvement, but ONLY PTA members have access to the directory!

LEADER IN ME DECEMBER FOCUS - HABIT 3: PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST
Work First, Then Play!
What this means: Focus on what is important, schedule the important things first. Don’t be a dreamer - stay focused!
“I spend my time on things that are most important.”
“I say no to things I know I should not do.”
“I set priorities, make a schedule, and follow my plan.”
“I am disciplined and organized.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Do your homework as soon as you come home from school.
2. Do something you have been putting off for a long time.
3. Think about your most important responsibilities. Do them first.
