Library News
Hello Dragons!
We are kicking off our California Young Reader Medal! We will read 5 different stories in the next five weeks. We just finished week 1 with “The Scarecrow” written by Beth Ferry and illustrated by The Fan Brothers, a little scarecrow was its clue. This sweet story was about a lonely scarecrow that saves a baby crow. This odd friendship develops into these two becoming best of friends. Eventually the crow grows and learns to fly and must leave as the seasons change. Unfortunately the scarecrow must stay. As the seasons change the scarecrow grows sad and lonely until one spring a large crow lands near him. As the two friends rejoice, we learn that there are now two crows and also some eggs that hatch into baby crows. The scarecrow's heart is full of happiness with his new family. Stay tuned as we get ready to learn about book number 2 of our nominees. AR prizes are being put together for the month of January and will be given out next week! Remember, good things happen when you read!

Parent Drop-off & Pick-up Procedures for Sierra School
As a reminder, parking and/or dropping-off/picking-up is not permitted at the front of the school between 8-9 am and 2-4 pm, unless your student attends extended day. For safety reasons, this area needs to be cleared at those times as it is our school bus lane. Families, please use the district office lot for morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. If you prefer to walk your student to and from class, please use the parent parking lot at the back of the school. The few parking spots at the front of the school are reserved for staff and those with limited mobility. Thank you for your assistance in keeping our school safe and orderly.
