* GMS SOCCER INFO: Tryouts will be held on March 9th and March 10th until 5:15 on the front field at GMS. Please ensure a ride for your students is @ GMS promptly @ 5:15 each day.

* GMS SOFTBALL INFO: Any girl interested in trying out for Softball will need to sign up!

Softball conditioning and Tryouts. Tryouts will be held during the week of Feb 27- March 3.

* GMS BASEBALL INFO: The 2023 Eagles BASEBALL season is here! If you want to sign up to TRY OUT for a spot on the team you need to do the following:

1. Make sure you have a CURRENT SPORTS PHYSICAL on file.
2. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP or find the QR codes in the hallways to signup.

TRYOUTS: 2/27 - 2/29/23

Student Arrival - Going forward the only stairwell that will be open between 8:45 - 9:05 AM will be the center stairs outside of school counseling. Any student who has a class in the R or Q hallway will need to go up those stairs upon their arrival to school.

The double doors at the top and bottom of the stairs will be closed until after 9:05 AM. All stairs will be open between the other blocks of the day.

Exterior Doors - All students, parents and visitors must enter the building from the front of the building at all times. No one should open any exterior door for anyone to enter the building. Everyone must check-in through the front office.

Traffic - New GES - There will be more traffic on Bulldog Way due to the construction of the new Goochland Elementary School. This will include heavy equipment and at times road crews. Please take this into consideration as you travel to and from GHS.

Ms. Dominique H. Lipscomb, Foodservice Director at Aramark-Workplace Hospitality Group, will be providing an informational session about her career on Monday, February 27th during Eagle/Bulldog block in the auditorium. If you are a student in grade 7 -12 and are interested in attending, please fill out this form.

Does your student have a high aptitude for math, English or art? If yes and your student has not already been identified as gifted then please email Michele Hope at mhope@glnd.k12.va.us for more information about the GCPS gifted program, services and eligibility.

*If your student was identified as gifted in a Goochland County elementary school they will continue to receive services through grade 12 as long as enrolled within the county.

Students are allowed to have a total of 3 loaner iPads in a semester. Students who exceed their limit of 3 loaner iPads will be required to keep their iPads at school in the library overnight.

Students whose iPads are out for a fix or repair will not count towards this loaner limit.

Student will depart from GMS @ 9:30AM and return at approximately 1:30. Students will eat lunch upon their return to GMS.

* To attend, student must not have received either In-School Suspension and/or Out-of-Suspension from Thursday, Feb. 23rd until the date of the trip.

This year's 8th Grade Moving On Ceremony will be held on June 2nd from 9:15 - 10:20 AM. More information will be shared as we approach this date, and we want to make sure families are able to plan for this event!

Goochland County Public Schools is accepting applications for preschool for the 2023-2024 school year! Goochland has preschool classrooms at each of its three elementary schools. These preschool programs are full-day programs and transportation to and from school is provided. Our preschool programs at Byrd Elementary School are for three- and four-year-olds. Our preschool programs at Randolph and Goochland Elementary Schools are for four-year-olds. You can apply for preschool using this online application.
