This Sunday Pastor Jeff will be preaching from Luke 2:8-14. Start thinking about the passage by reading through it over the next two days, that you might be all the more ready to hear what God has to say to you!

Join us on Christmas Eve at 6:30pm for worship including Christmas carols, Scripture readings, a children's message and a candle lighting. Invite as many family and friends as possible to come and hear the Gospel. If you are interested in doing a reading, contact Pastor Jeff (jeff@realhope.org)

We will also have a special family worship service on Christmas morning at 10am during which we will celebrate communion. There will be no childcare. PJs are allowed.

Coming this Sunday, December 18th...Our Hope Children's Christmas Program! Bring the family and let the true meaning of Christmas be told through pictures and scripture readings. The kids would love a sweet treat to follow the program. Feel free to bake up (or buy) some cookies and place them in the foyer for after the program. Creative Touch members have been busy making Christmas ornaments that will be available for sale in the foyer at church. Also, we will have many other handmade items that would make terrific gifts for family, friends, teacher gifts, etc. The funds raised will allow us to purchase the yarns needed to make prayer blankets, shawls, ASP blankets, preemie hats, homeless hats and scarves and more.

All Middle and High School students, mark your calendars! The Great Escape Youth Retreat is scheduled for January 27-29 at Lake Champion. You won't want to miss this! To reserve your spot, get your money to Logan ASAP($40 deposit or $125 in full).

All men are tempted to be loners, wanderers, liars, judges and strongmen. We are in need of friends who will help us grow and mature in our common journey. Samson Society is a meeting for men who are helping one another by sharing honestly, out of our own personal experience, the challenges and encouragements of daily Christian living in a fallen world. If you are interested in joining this group, the next meeting is at church on Sunday, January 8 at 8:30am, or you can contact Matt Giordano (mattgiordano@aol.com) for more info.

There will be a congregational meeting after church on Jan 22 for the purpose of electing new officers. The session has examined and approved George Herc as a candidate for Deacon and Steve Hunter as a candidate for elder (Steve would step down from his role as deacon in order to serve as an elder).

Thank you for your generous donations toward the troop Christmas gift packages. Ten gallon sized bags were made up and given to Picatinny Arsenal to be sent to the Middle East where many of our servicemen and women are still serving. I was sent an email that thanked us for being life-savers as a last minute request came in for troops in Afghanistan. So, thanks again for always making our troop ministry project a priority!

Prefer volunteers that are at least in Junior High. Side benefit: Best seats in God's house!

The Prayer Team will be available after the worship service to pray with anyone needing prayer. The Prayer Team will be up front immediately following the service.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,

by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,

will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

MINISTRY TO THE MILITARY

Packages of remembrance will be sent to our military servicemen and women on behalf of Hope church. If you know of someone we can acknowledge in this way, please contact Cary Hoffman with a complete address.
