Dear Covington Middle School Community,
Homecoming week at Covington Middle School was an absolute blast! Our Colts came together like never before, and we're thrilled to share the excitement with all of you.
The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the unforgettable Pep Rally. Students, faculty, and staff roared with school spirit as we cheered on our incredible teams and celebrated the Covington spirit. It was a joyous display of unity and enthusiasm that truly exemplifies our school's pride.
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents who showed unwavering support throughout Homecoming week, from the electrifying Colts Football and Volleyball games to the lively events that kept our school spirit soaring. Your encouragement and involvement truly make a difference in our students' lives, and we are grateful for your dedication to our school community.
As a quick reminder, there will be no school on Monday. It's a perfect opportunity for our students to recharge after the excitement of Homecoming week and return ready for a fantastic week of learning ahead.
As we reflect on the fantastic Homecoming week we've just experienced, I'd like to take a moment to express our commitment to strengthening relationships with all our valued partners, especially those within our wonderful community. Your support means the world to us!
One significant partner that has consistently shown incredible support for Covington Middle School is Bannockburn Church, led by the inspiring Pastor Kacy. Over the years, their unwavering commitment to our school has been nothing short of remarkable.
Pastor Kacy has been instrumental in guiding our students on important topics that matter most. He has delivered impactful presentations to our 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students on Bullying, Making Good Choices When Peer Pressured With Drugs and Alcohol, and Transitions to High School and Influences. These age-specific discussions are vital in shaping our students' growth and helping them make informed decisions as they navigate their middle school journey.
In the coming weeks, we will be scheduling assemblies with Pastor Kacy to continue these important conversations. We believe these discussions are essential in providing our students with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive both academically and personally.

Youth mental health is a topic of utmost importance, and we believe that by working together, we can create a supportive environment where our children can thrive. This year, Care Solace begins offering mental health care coordination services for all AISD school communities, and can help connect you and your child with appropriate community-based providers. We will hold our first Garden Work Day on October 7th from 9-11 am! If you would like to volunteer to help clean up the garden and get ready for fall/winter planning, please join!
We will meet at 9 am at the garden gates by Raeburn St. We will provide gloves and tools, as well as water and snacks.
