Monday, March 7th - Friday, March 11- Shopping available in the TCE Library!

• Parents are invited to shop with their children before school Monday - Friday from 7:20-7:40 a.m. and after school Monday - Thursday from 3:00-3:30 p.m.
• Learners who are shopping independently will shop during their recess or other teacher-selected times throughout the day.
• The book fair will be open during Open House on Thursday, March 10th from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

We encourage you to use the eWallet feature. Instead of sending cash with your children, you can create an eWallet account and place a predetermined amount of money on the account for your children to shop at the in-person fair. If you would like to volunteer at our Town Center Book Fair, we'd love to have you join us! Our volunteers will work at the registers and support our kids as they spend time in the Book Fair shopping. We have available times throughout the day and during Open House Night. Please click below to sign-up if you are interested. IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED A BACKGROUND CHECK THIS YEAR, PLEASE DO THAT BEFORE SIGNING UP. Any volunteers that arrive at school and do not have a background check completed, will not be able to work that day.

We are partnering with several other CISD elementary schools to host a spring Parent /Family Engagement Night on Monday, March 28th with a presentation entitled "Bounce Back" from the Grant Halliburton Foundation starting at 6:30 P.M. in the Austin Elementary Cafeteria. This presentation explores how adults can help children navigate stress, challenge, tragedy, trauma, or adversity. The presenters will focus on the following:

• Learning about the vital elements of resilience and how they impact child development

• Understanding Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg’s 7 Cs of Resiliency

• Developing skills for teaching children how to use challenges and setbacks as building blocks for resiliency

• Recognizing adversity as an opportunity to empower students to bounce back

A big thank you to our families for communicating positive student Covid cases to us. In order to help streamline the communication process for both families and our campus nurse, please fill out the following Google Form if your child receives a positive Covid-19 test. Once our nurse has received the form from a family, she will reach out to them during school hours to discuss a return date to school and any questions they may have.
