Plano Middle School Weekly Update

We are excited to welcome all our In-Person learners back to the building on Tuesday, January 19th. The building doors open at 7:20 am and please remember that all students and staff are required to wear masks and adhere to the 6 foot social distancing guideline while on school grounds and in the building.

This is one final reminder of changes to our Hybrid Learning schedule effective January 19th.

All students will receive 4 days a week of instruction following the same schedule we used during the Adaptive Pause. Students who were "in-person" learners prior to the Adaptive Pause will attend school 2 days a week in-person and 2 days a week remote. Full Remote students will attend all classes 4 days a week in a remote platform via ZOOM.

Tuesday and Thursday

Group A students will attend school in person while Groups B, D, F students will join class remotely.

Wed. and Friday

Group B students will attend school in person while Groups A, D, F students will join class remotely.

If you would like to request a change to your student's status from Full Remote to In-person or In-Person to Full Remote, please contact the Plano MS Student Service office at (630) 552-3608 (extension 7415) or by emailing Theresa Byelick tbyelick@plano88.org. Please note that if you are requesting a change to In-person learning, we will need 24 hours to confirm whether we can accommodate the change due to capacity limitations in classrooms and on buses.

Parents not able to be home but wanting updates on if your student is logging in and attending Zoom classes? You can sign-up to receive Attendance Email Notifications through your PowerSchool Account! Here's How:

1. Parents: Log into PowerSchool using your login/password.

2. Click on "Email Notification". That will take you here:

3. Click to check the boxes for the attendance notifications you want to receive.

4. Select the frequency as well as any email addresses (beyond what is in PowerSchool) that you want notifications to go to.

5. Click on "Submit" at the bottom right corner of the page to save your choices.

6. You will now receive notifications for attendance.

Plano School district is is providing FREE breakfast and lunch to ALL CHILDREN in the community 18 and under, regardless of their eligibility for free, reduced, or full pay. Families can pick up meals on Mondays and Thursdays between the hours of 8:30am -9:30am, 11:30am-12:30pm and 5pm-6pm, for all children in their household 18 and under!

If you RSVP'd via Schoology please be aware our event begins at 6 pm! We'll be happy to see all who attend. For this event, students will get to attend three 20 minute zoom sessions filled with fun and activities! For any extra info contact dbrummel@plano88.org !
