Alder Teacher Residency Program
In partnership with the San Mateo County Office of Education and Alder Graduate School, RCSD will welcome up to 3 resident (student) teachers to our Special Education classrooms for the 2022-2023 school year!
Resident Program Fast Facts:
- Each resident is partnered with an RCSD Special Ed classroom Monday-Thursday
- On Fridays, the resident attends classes at the San Mateo County Office of Education
- After one year, the resident will graduate with a Masters and Special Education teaching credential
- Residents are intended future teachers for RCSD
- No teaching experience is required, only a Bachelor's degree
Residents earn their credential and Masters in just one year, while getting hands on experience with students in SMCOE schools, working closely with a mentor teacher, and learning alongside other residents through seminars.
