Dear Tiger Community,
As we're all too aware, January has proven to be quite a challenging month in terms of weather-related disruptions to our school schedule.
With that in mind, I'd like to take a moment to refresh everyone's memory on how snow days operate within our district. Snow days, while often a welcome break for students, can pose logistical challenges for families and educators alike. Our primary concern during these instances is always the safety of our students and staff.
For your convenience, I encourage you to review our current academic calendar, which outlines important dates and events for the school year. We look forward to spring and after spring break, any potential calendar adjustments will be communicated to you.
As we continue to navigate through the remaining winter months, I urge everyone to stay informed and prepared for any future weather-related closures. Our district website and communication channels will remain active sources of information regarding school closures and schedule changes.

Over 40 incredible students dedicated their time to support the St. James Caring Center's January commodity distribution! These Mission Makers are making a positive impact, proving that every act of kindness contributes to a stronger community. A big shoutout to our educators who make it possible for our students to experience real world examples of our mission in action.
Throughout the school year, students have been demonstrating exceptional behavior and dedication, earning themselves Positive Office Referrals.
Each Positive Office Referral not only recognizes the individual effort and positive attitude of the student but also contributes to their chance to participate in Positive Behavior BINGO—a fun and rewarding initiative that fosters a culture of positivity and excellence.

In the realm of communication, the St. James R-1 High School Speech and Debate Team shines, empowered by the dedication of sponsor, Ms. Shultz. Through honing public speaking, critical thinking, and persuasion skills, students emerge as leaders, ready to leave their mark.
Recently, at the Hermann Conference meet, our Tigers showcased their skills, securing impressive wins and demonstrating the power of speech. We're proud of you, Tigers!
In January, the LWJE Beta Club partnered with the Rolla Middle School Beta Clubs to host a Regional Beta Visual Art Show! This fantastic collaboration not only showcases the creativity and talent of our students but also strengthens the bonds with our neighbors.
Congratulations to all the winners in each category! Their remarkable artwork has earned them the opportunity to compete at the State Convention at the end of February.

Peachjar Digital Flyers!
Beginning in the 2022-23 school year, St. James R-1 School District began using Peachjar to digitally send home school and community flyers. All parents with an email address on file will automatically be registered to receive digital flyers from their school.
