Principal's Message

Hello Pinewood Community!

I hope you've all had a great week so far.

Safety remains paramount. We kindly urge you not to drop off or pick up your children by the chain link fence surrounding the construction zone, ensuring the continued safety of our students. Your cooperation in this matter is deeply appreciated, and your support is invaluable to us.

We're excited to announce that a three-day weekend awaits us in observance of Labor Day! Please be reminded that there will be no school on Monday. With the arrival of cooler weather, it's the perfect opportunity to embrace cozy sweaters and warm beverages as we savor quality moments with our families

Focus Skill of the Week: Respectful

This week, we will be focusing on Being Respectful. Being Respectful helps everyone feel welcome and safe. When we act respectfully, we listen carefully to each other, help each other, and try to understand how someone else feels. When we speak respectfully we use friendly words and say please and thank you. We don't call other people names. This week, we will be thinking about how students can act and speak in respectful ways in the classroom, hallway, lunchroom, and out at recess.

Parent Teacher Club

PTC will be meeting Tuesday, September 19th @ 2:45pm in room #2. We are a group of families and staff members who would love your help in planning family-friendly events, awesome assemblies for our kids and finding ways to support and enhance the school community!

Join Our Team! Employment Opportunities:

We're looking to expand our Substitute Pool for this year. This is not just for people with teaching credentials. We have opportunities for all types of positions ranging from teachers, yard duties, library technicians, instructional aides, and custodial. The great thing about being a substitute is that you can be very flexible with your work schedule. If you are interested in learning more about subbing for our district, call the District Office at (530)644-5416. Start now to be ready by the start of next school year.

Parenting Classes - Hosted by El Dorado Hills Library

Dr. Paul Sunseri is conducting a series of no cost workshops for parents, therapists, and school staff. The second in the series, How to Improve Communication with Your Child or Teen is scheduled on September 23, 2023 11:00am to 1:00pm at the El Dorado Hills Library.

As you know, rates of depression, anxiety, and self-harm among young people have skyrocketed and this is unlikely to change anytime soon. The workshops are geared to the things families can do to reverse this trend and protect their child or teen against the various negative influences that are causing the problem (and despite what you hear, the problem isn't just social media).
