This week's book was After the Fall. Caldecott Medalist Dan Santat's book follows Humpty Dumpty, an avid bird watcher whose favorite place to be is high up on the city wall―that is, until after his famous fall. Now terrified of heights, Humpty can longer do many of the things he loves most. Throughout the story, the students were encouraged to think about the theme of the story, "Life begins when you get back up."

This week we are learning about force in Science. Part of that experience involves students learning about how the amount of force can affect the movement and direction of an object. Students learned this firsthand as they played miniature golf!

Third graders in Mrs. Cramer’s and Ms. Kaskiewicz’s class presented their biography boards in school this week. Each third grader was assigned an American historical figure and completed a biographical pinwheel in school. At home, students wrote up an oral presentation and created their biography boards. Each student took a turn presenting their biography board to their classmates! We were also able to share the boards with second graders so they can see what’s ahead of them! Great job third graders!

The students learned about the positive and negative integers. Here they are discovering why a number line -5 is greater than -15 by finding their places on a number line.
