SchoolPass-Visitor Management System
SchoolPass is a sign-in/check-in system for visitors, volunteers, and guests to our school. First -time visitors need their driver's license to sign-in, all visitors receive a pin number to use for subsequent visits to our building.
Attendance
If your student is not at school, for any reason, or will be late, please call the Sunset office by 9:00 a.m. to let the school know. Our phones take messages, so if parents call outside of office hours, please feel free to leave a message. If students are unaccounted for, we have to call parents at either home or work to find out why they are not in school.
Transportation
Keep our Students Safe!
Please contact the the front office with your student's transportation plan after school. Our goal is to keep our students safe and that includes getting more than 300 of them to where they need to be after school. Please call the front office, 587-4279, with any after school changes! Call before 2 p.m. Monday-Thursday and before noon on Fridays!
Student bus riders are dropped off at Sunset School in the bus lane, directly in front of the school. The Bus Lane is reserved for buses; all passenger cars need to refrain from being in the Bus Lane from 7:55 am to 8:15 am and 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
Buses in the loading and unloading zones are required by law to use their stop arm and red lights in those areas. There are students that could be crossing in front of the bus. The protection of a stop arm starts at the rear bumper of that bus. Please do not pass a bus in these areas while they are loading or unloading children. This is per Wyoming statute 31-5-507.
Students arriving and leaving in passenger vehicles are dropped off and picked up at the Kiss-n-Go lane on the east side of the school. During drop-off and pick-up, drive your vehicle all the way up to the front of the Kiss-n-Go line. Staff are there to ensure our kiddos' safety. Please do not use the west parking lot for drop-off or pick ups. This causes problems with kids running across the parking lot, this is a staff parking lot with traffic as well as school buses pulling out.
The School Day
Students may be dropped off at school beginning at 7:45 in the morning. Those eating breakfast proceed to the lunchroom, otherwise they proceed to their grade level playground. They cannot go to their classroom as teachers are planning for the day and are unavailable to supervise them. Students are expected to be in their seat, ready to learn by 8:10 am, the start of the school day.
At the end of the day, 3:15 pm, students either proceed to the Kiss-n-Go for pick up or to the school buses. The buses are loaded quickly and are on their way by 3:20 pm. All students need to be picked up within 15 minutes of dismissal.
Monday-Thursday 8:10 am to 3:15 pm
Friday 8:10 am to 1:35 pm
From Our Nurse
Welcome back from Nurse Windy at Sunset Elementary School!
Part of our annual back-to-school preparation includes reviewing records for immunization compliance and updating health plans for students with medical conditions.
Immunization Compliance:
Park 6 needs proof of immunization compliance or exemption within the first 30 days of the start of school or your student will be excluded from school per Wyoming Statute. WDH partnered with "Docket" to make access to your records easier. See this link for information regarding an app you can download to access your student's immunization records.
https://health.wyo.gov/need-back-to-school-vaccination-records-try-new-wdh-app/
If your student is returning to Park 6, their records should be on file. However if your student just turned 7 or will be turning 7 soon, and has not received their routine "kindergarten shots", I'll contact you to discuss which immunizations are required at that time.
If your student is new to Park 6, please make sure you provide a copy of immunization records to the nurse.
Medications and Health Care Plans:
If your student has physician orders related to Asthma, Diabetes, Serious Allergic Reaction, or Epilepsy a copy of these orders is necessary in order for school personnel to best care for your student. Copies of forms can be picked up from the nurse or found on the Student Health page: https://www.park6.org/page/student-health
Reminder: Per Board Policy, all medications (with the exception of some emergency medications) must be stored in the nurse's office and will require orders and/or parent signature in order to be administered.
If you would like your student to have access to over-the-counter medication for headaches, etc., you need to bring in a supply as well as complete an over-the counter medication form. Please review the District Medication Guidelines which can be found on the Student Health page below.
Copies of forms, as well as Medication Guidelines, can be picked up from the nurse or found on the Student Health page: https://www.park6.org/page/student-health. Please be sure to review all Medication Guidelines prior to bringing medication to school.
Please return completed forms to Nurse Windy at your earliest convenience. Please reach out with any questions you may have.
Here's to a healthy 2023-2024 School year.

Title One
School Lunches
Families who created lunch accounts for their students through the Titan program can access their account through LINQ Connect for on demand access to your student's school account. This link is https://linqconnect.com/ Our district is Park CSD #6. If you already have an account, the login information is the same. With this secure meal account, you can easily make meal payments, link student accounts, access menus, track purchases and more!
We encourage all families, whether your student eats school lunch or not, to complete a free and reduced lunch application, even if you don't think you are eligible. This helps determine our Title One status which helps our teachers and provides computers and other education supplies for our students. If you didn't complete an application as part of the current student registration process, please take a few moments to complete it by clicking onto the link, http://linqconnect.com/
If it is more convenient, here is a link to the paper application, https://5il.co/21594
