From the Principal...Matt Clark
Good afternoon parents and guardians. I hope you had a great week and are looking forward to a cool fall weekend. At TMS this morning we started our day with a powerful Veterans Day assembly to show gratitude and appreciation for our service men and women. 8th graders and students with loved ones who served in the armed forces were able to attend the assembly in the gymnasium while 6th and 7th graders were able to watch a live stream of the assembly in the first period classes. I appreciate all the contributions made by the students, staff and distinguished guests during the assembly, including the heartfelt words from the St. Charles Mayor, Ms. Lora Vitek.
An event like this is not possible without the help and support of multiple planners and organizers. I’d like to thank all of the teachers, maintenance and custodial staff, student support team, teaching assistants, admin team and administrative assistants who assisted in making this assembly a success. Specifically, the following staff members were instrumental in putting this great assembly together:
Katrina Michaelis
Tom Clark
Pedro Barron
Dave Simone
Jessica Beauchamp
Sarah Frankiewicz
Sarah Differding
Rob Harmon
Danielle Boyd
Michelle Frolich
Andrea Forsell
Marie Legenski

Parent Pick-up and Drop-off
As the weather begins to turn, we are seeing an increase in the number of cars in our drop-off and pick-up lines. Please be advised of the following expectations when picking up or dropping off your children:
Please pull up as far as you can to help keep traffic moving
Refrain from using your cell phone while driving
Pull up close to the car in front of you, but do not park on the crosswalks
Students should only ever enter or exit a vehicle from the sidewalk
Thank you for your assistance in ensuring the safety of our students during arrival and dismissal.
Students Leaving Early from School
Cold and flu season is now upon us. We’re seeing an increase in the number of students going home sick, which is typical for this time of year. To help us best support your children while they are at school, we ask that you instruct your child to report to the nurse’s office when they are not feeling well. If a student is sick and not able to continue with their school day, you will receive a call from our Nurse’s Office to come and pick up your child. We have seen an uptick in the number of parents who show up to Thompson to pick up their student without notification or communication. We realize that you are in contact with your child during the school day (I am with mine as well…), but if you could instruct them to go to the Nurse’s office to go home, it would be greatly appreciated!
