Thursday, December 12th, 2019
Hello Mill Valley Families,
At Mill Valley, we strive to partner with families to support students by making a school to home connection. Our goal is to improve communication to parents on how well their child is learning. Our first step was to ensure that all students at Mill Valley Elementary set personalized goals in reading and math. Next, we need to ensure that these goals and action steps are clearly communicated to parents.
Please take this survey to let us know how we are doing to communicate how well your child is learning (student reading and math goals). The survey takes less than 1 minute per student.

Holiday Movie Night and Cookie Exchange
WHAT: Holiday Movie & Cookie Exchange
WHEN: 6:30 pm on Friday, December 13th
WHERE: Mill Valley Gymnasium (enter through door #12)
We are also asking families who would like to participate in a cookie exchange to bring their favorite cookies in a disposable container (or wrapped). Then, you are welcome to take home someone else’s cookies. Families are encouraged to bring gluten-free and nut-free options too. Cookies will be clearly marked indicating these options. Any leftover cookies will be donated to local nursing homes for their holiday enjoyment.
We are looking for a few volunteers to help with this event. We would greatly appreciate your time. Please email MV PTO if you are interested. millvalleymuskegopto@gmail.com

Attendance Matters
The holiday season can be a stressful time for both adults and children. Stress can decrease our ability to fight off illness thereby increasing our absences from school. Here’s an article from VeryWell Family about Preventing Holiday Stress and Anxiety in Children.
