The Bulldog
December 2020
Hello Bulldogs!
The CMS Administrative Team wish all of you a safe holiday season. District and school staff continue to be vigilant in the effort to stay open. We work to maintain physical distancing with colleagues and students and consistently wear face coverings. Please continue to keep your child home from in person learning if they develop COVID symptoms or any one in your household or close contact tested positive. In working together, this greatly improves our ability to prevent widespread transmission in our school and keeps our in person instruction as safe as possible. Rapid isolation and quarantine practices are still the best tools available to help control transmission.
As a reminder there will be no school December 21 and December 22. Another item to note is that quarter 2 will now end on January 29 and quarter 3 will end on April 9. Please see this link for the revised school calendar. Please contact me with any questions.
The December 16 Parent-Principal meeting has also been canceled.
Thank you for your partnership,
Ehren Miller, Mike Rosandich and Shannon Clark-West

ACP (Academic and Career Planning) Conference Information
Learn about Cudahy High School and 9th grade course registration
Dear Parents/Guardians of the Class of 2025,
You are invited to participate in your student's 8th grade ACP (Academic & Career Planning) conferences! During these conferences, we will discuss your student’s future plans and the transition to high school. Students, parents or guardians and a school counselor will meet to discuss each student's Academic and Career Plan as well as register for 9th grade electives.
Conferences are targeted to begin at the end of November and will run through January so that each family can have an individualized meeting with a school counselor. In person students will participate at school during the school day. Parents and virtual students will participate virtually through a google or zoom meeting. ACP Conferences last approximately 30-40 minutes. Appointments will be scheduled between 7:30am-3:30pm each weekday depending on counselor availability.
Before you schedule your student’s ACP conference, please check out this informational PRESENTATION and VIDEO for an overview of the ACP process. This information is in place of our traditional parent night at CHS. Please complete this SIGN-UP FORM to request an appointment time for your student’s 8th grade ACP Conference. SIGN UP DEADLINE IS WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2020. If you have not signed up for a time by the deadline, you and your child will be scheduled into an available appointment slot. You will be contacted through a Google calendar invite with the date and time for your student’s ACP conference. If you would like to make a change to the meeting date and time, please contact one of us to reschedule.
We strongly value family support and hope to have 100% parent participation in ACP Conferences. We are looking forward to the opportunity to speak with you about your student’s future!

Boys Basketball and Girls Volleyball Information
First practice for boys basketball is January 4 with the first game on January 12. The season is one month long.
First practice for girls volleyball is February 15 with the first match on February 24. The season is one month long.
Both sports are for 7th and 8th graders only. Athletes must have a physical on file and be registered on-line in order to practice. If there are not enough athletes signed up one week before the first practice, there will not be a team. Students should not wait, and register NOW.
Calling all students interested in CMS Forensics
CMS Forensics is looking for members for the 2020-2021 team. Any 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students are invited to consider joining the Forensic team as we compete in a new way virtually. What this means is once you pick a category to compete with this year, you will then sign up and work with a coach who will instruct you on how to present your speech virtually. In February our team will compete with 100 other middle school forensic teams during 6 meets.
Student Council Winter Fest and Spirit Week
We will celebrate the day before our winter break with a winter themed spirit week and squad celebrations. The student body voted on the spirit week dress up themes. Show your school spirit and have a little fun by participating in the dress up days. The last portion of the day on Thursday, December 17, will be celebrated by squad choice of activity. Virtual students can contact their advisory/squad teacher to learn about how to join in the fun!
