Announcements/ Reminders
Mustang Families,
Last week was packed with events and finished on such a high note with two wonderful trips for our 6th graders going to In The Game Hollywood Park and our 8th graders going to Great America! Both of our groups were celebrated by each of the organizations for our scholars behavior and courteousness! We capped off the week with an eloquent 8th Grade dance for just under 300 soon to be graduates! Huge THANK YOU to our amazing PTSA and volunteers for supporting such a fun and creatively successful evening! Today, the Class of 2023 walks the halls of their elementary schools while looking ahead to culminating their D123 career on Thursday!
Congratulations: We hosted our 6th and 7th Grade Awards Breakfasts this past week! Congrats to all of our awardees for demonstrating our Mustang Musts and exemplifying our mission and vision. Thank you to all of our families for taking the time to share in this acknowledgement!
Jazz Concert: Congratulations to our Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble for putting together another wonderful performance last week! Always a delight to see and hear such talented young musicians!
Hidden in Plain Sight: The HERO Foundation was here this past week! In connection to Mental Health Awareness Month students heard about the importance of choice making while parents had the opportunity to visit the Hidden in Plain Sight Trailer! The trailer is a support opportunity for parents to spot the potential problems. Adults have to be trained on what to look for with our children- this was such an eye opening experience! The "Hidden In Plain Sight" trailer is a program that HERO is presenting to show families where drugs may be hidden. Thank you to the HERO Foundation and John Roberts for sharing his time and personal story for his mission to educate all of us around the substance abuse epidemic facing out nation.
Library Book: Please remind scholars to bring back school library books! We are still on the search for about 150 library books!
Summer Support with IXL: Parents might be interested in some online resources. Here is a LINK to IXL.
Skyward Family Access: Make sure you are checking/ logging into Skyward Family Access routinely. This is a great place to obtain supportive information such as student's courses, bus routes, student fees/ debts. Returning student schedules will be posted in Skyward the second week in August.
Student Debts: Please make sure to review student debts via Family Access. There are multiple students who have accumulated debts purchasing items from the cafeteria and lost ID's.
Congratulations to our SWIC Artist!
