"Stay in the Loop" 18th Edition
Letter From the Principal
Next week, we will celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week. We are excited to celebrate our entire staff, because each and every staff member is an integral part of making St. Pius X an exceptional school, I’d like to dedicate this week’s “Letter From the Principal” to our extraordinary teachers.
Although I’ve said it before, I think it’s important enough to repeat. Our teachers could easily switch to another district and make a lot more money than what they make working for a Catholic school, which is evidence that our teachers believe teaching in a Catholic school is a vocation, not a job. Additionally, our dedicated teachers sacrifice a great deal of their personal time to make sure they are providing the best education and experience for our students. During evenings, weekends, and holiday breaks, teachers are still lesson planning, researching ideas, grading assignments, calculating grades for report cards, attending professional development, writing newsletters, answering emails, completing mandatory paperwork, and the list goes on and on.
Managing classrooms of 25-35 students can be exhausting, but our talented teachers make it look simple. Beyond maintaining an environment where everyone can learn, and creating engaging lessons that challenge and excite students, our teachers also play an essential role in the personal growth of our students. They instill values such as respect, responsibility, hard work, kindness and love for our Lord; they act as mentors and counselors who encourage your children to overcome challenges and to use their God-given gifts to the best of their abilities; and they provide a safe space where your child can feel loved and supported.
I firmly believe, happy teachers produce happy students, so I encourage each of you to join me in celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week by taking some time to send your teacher(s) a quick note or email of appreciation. I'm sure they'd love notes from your children, too!
We are lucky to have a special team of faculty and staff at SPX, and I feel blessed to lead such a dedicated, caring group of people who truly want the best for your children!

Principal and Assistant Principals for the Day
Thanks to the Bradley Family's winning bid at A Night in Green, Jude, Etta, and Lark had the privilege of being "Principal and Assistant Principals for the Day." They visited each classroom, helped lead the Apex pep rallies, made announcements over the PA, used the walkie talkies, enjoyed Chick-fil-A for lunch, monitored the playground, completed teacher observations, enjoyed some hot chocolate in the staff lounge, and lots more! We are thankful for the Bradley's generous donation!
Apex Fun Run
THANK YOU for Supporting our Apex Fundraiser!
Although we don't have our final numbers, we know we surpassed our Apex goal for this year! We can't thank our families enough for sharing your children's pages to help us raise money for some cool things for the school! We have no doubt our students will love the basketball hoops and other additions to the playground, as well as the book vending machine and more! The last two weeks were filled with energy and excitement, and we give thanks to God for blessing us with two beautiful days for our Fun Runs and Color Powder Battles. You'll see from the Color Powder Games Slideshow that Miss B and I are willing to do just about anything to help SPX!
