Payment Portal
With the new online payment portal this year, it's VERY important that families register (HERE) AND add student(s) to the account so you receive the alerts and have access to the various items by team, class, club, etc.
Giving Tuesday
November 29, or Giving Tuesday, is a great time to donate to the school. Please consider making a tax-deductible charitable contribution to the school 10 year anniversary fund or to a specific graduating class, e.g. "Class of 2023" in the online payment portal. We appreciate your generosity!
Counseling
November is the perfect time of the year to reflect and practice gratitude. Gratitude is the feeling of being thankful for the things that surround you in your everyday life. Thankfulness is being grateful for what you have. It is appreciating the little things which happen around you and within you every day. Sometimes it can be difficult to feel thankful, especially if you are having a bad day or week, or someone you know is not well. The benefits of practicing gratitude every day can improve our mental health, makes us happier, sleep better at night, less stress, and teaches us patience. Try this activity at home and see if it improves your mood!
Take a moment to list five things that you are grateful for. Try keeping your list somewhere where you will see if every day – by your bed, taped to the refrigerator, or bathroom mirror. This is a great way to remind yourself everyday what you are thankful/grateful for!
Excellence Everywhere
MAGIC Makers
At our November faculty meeting, we recognized the following two staff members as MAGIC Makers: Ms. April Kortlang for providing key training to staff as our school equity lead, excellence as an EL teacher and for her support of students in starting up an international club at school. Mr. Long is always lending help when needed. As a new member to the JCHS counseling team, he hit the ground running, makes meaningful connections with kids, and played an integral role contributing to the success with our schoolwide ERP drill. In addition to his service to our school, we thank Mr. Long for his service to our country as a veteran.

Amazon Smile and Harris Teeter TIE
Champe PTSA currently has 108 families in the Harris Teeter TIE program - Can you help us get to 200 by linking your VIC card?! Ask your friends and other family members to join, too! Every bit counts.

eSports Playoffs
Our eSports teams have been crushing it. Our final teams competing in the playoffs are Team Blue and Anti-Aegis Association. Our Playoff dates are as follows:
November 28 (Rocket League Top 64), November 29 (Splatoon Top 64), November 30 (Rocket League, Smash Top 32), December 1 (Splatoon Top 32), December 2 (Rocket League, Smash Top 16), December 5 (Splatoon Top 16), December 6 (Rocket League, Smash Top 8), December 7 (Splatoon Top 8), December 9 (Splatoon Top 4). As all VHSL Playoffs, a single loss is an elimination from competition; as long as our players keeping winning, they'll keep playing. Hopefully we'll see our teams compete December 17th in the VHSL Championships at Shenandoah University and Splatoon Championships online.
