AP Coordinators
We would like to introduce you to the individuals on your campus who assume the primary responsibility for organizing and administering the AP programs at your schools, the AP coordinators. Your coordinators work directly with you and your administrative teams to support the work of AP student join codes, exam registration, collection of exam fees, ordering and receiving tests, along with the distribution, administration, and returning of AP exam materials.
If you have not had a chance to meet your AP coordinator and administrator over Advanced Placement, please take a moment to do so.

AP Course Contracts
RISD encourages ALL students to enroll in available Advanced Placement (AP) classes to enhance their academic experiences. RISD strongly believes that AP courses provide enhanced academic opportunities for students that will assist them in future college-level courses. Any RISD student may enroll in as many AP classes as his or her schedule permits.
To assist our students and their families in understanding the rigors and expectations of AP classes, the District requires that students complete an AP contract. Using this link, AP/PAP Fall 2020 Contract, you will be able to access the AP contracts for the 2020-2021 school year. These forms can be provided to students and their parents digitally, they sign them digitally and then return to you.
All AP contracts should be completed and returned to AP teachers to keep on file for the 2020-2021 school year. At the end of the school year, AP teachers should destroy all 2020-2021 contract copies.
Access to the Forms:
1. Open this link and locate the form AP/PAP Fall 2020 Contract
2. Download the form using the down arrow in the upper right corner.
3. The form will download with the ability for them to be completed and signed digitally.
AP Fall Course Drop Dates
Due to us beginning the semester remotely and College Board mandating that students register for their AP exams by November, we have adjusted our drop timeline for AP and PAP courses at the beginning of the school year.
New Add and Drop Timeline:
September 9 – September 14, 2020: Window to drop an AP course for the fall semester. Your campus counselors will have the forms which students and their families will complete to drop an AP course.
If you would like to see what a drop form looks like, you can find one at AP/PAP Fall 2020 Contract.
****UPDATE****APSI Billing and Certificate Submission

Advanced Learning Professional Development Hours in 20-21
During the 20-21 school year, teachers will be expected to complete a total of 18 professional development hours. Here are options as to how APSI and GT training's can be used.
August 10- 6 hours will be earned at your home campus before school starts
8 hours content(non-duty) - APSI and GT training's are available for this category and are aligned with professional/student growth goals for the year.
2 hours Social and Emotional Learning– APSI and GT are not available for this category
2 hours Cultural Competency- APSI and GT are not available for this category
Extended Learning- remaining hours can be captured in this category. Extended learning is a PD bank which allows teachers an opportunity to capture additional hours and have them available on their PD transcript for future use with TEA and reapplying for their teaching certification.
Example for APSI Hours: - (Most APSI training's are available for 30 hours.)
When you upload your certificate to True North Logic you need to request the following:
8 hours content (non-duty)
22 hours extended learning
Example for GT Hours: - (The total number of hours will depend upon how many hours you earned.)
Region X Pick 6 Topic 8 - 3 hours credit
3 hours content (non-duty)
3 hours of GT
Can an APSI training also be used for GT hours?
If a teacher has never attended the initial 30 state-mandated GT hours, they can use 18 of their APSI hours for GT Days 3-5 since they are strictly for academic training purposes.
If PAP/AP teachers have completed their initial 30 hours of GT training and only need a 6-hour update, teachers can choose from any of our 6 hour update options. An APSI cannot be used for an 6 hour update.
