STATE BOUND!
A huge congratulations to both our Dodge-Point Boys and Girls Cross Country teams that qualified for WIAA State at the Sectional at La Crosse Logan Saturday!
-- The Girls claimed the Sectional Championship for the 3rd year in a row! They posted 26 points, besting 2nd place West Salem who scored 75. Ellie Robinson is the individual Sectional Champion as well with Annie Robinson runner up.
-- The Boys finished runner up with 48 points, second only to West Salem with 41. Layne Aurit is the individual Sectional Champion as well with Cody Yoder runner up.
Good luck to all next Saturday, October 28 at State in Wisconsin Rapids!

Josie Dunn (Middle School Orchestra), Libby Dunn (High School Band), Abby Webb (High School Band), James Webb (High School Orchestra), and Elliott Webb (High School Orchestra) will be performing this week as part of the prestigious Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) State Honors Project! Their selection identifies them as one of Wisconsin’s finest youth musicians.

For the first time since 1997 and 1998, we are Back to Back Regional Volleyball Champs! A big congrats to the #PointerNation Volleyball team for its thrilling 3-2 win over Darlington in the WIAA Regional Final Saturday! Next up will be the Sectional Semifinal Thursday, October 26 at home vs. Cuba City. Keep fighting!

#PointerNation is proud to announce that we have achieved a Bronze Level Dual Credit Participation Award from Southwest Tech! The annual Dual Credit Participation Level Award recognizes school districts for participation in two or more dual credit programs of CollEDGE Up, Start College Now, 38.14 contracted courses, and transcripted credit and the overall percentage of high school students enrolled in dual credit programs during a given school year. The number of unduplicated students enrolled in dual credit programs is divided by the total number of high school students. In the 2022-2023 school year, the Mineral Point Unified School District has achieved bronze level status with 21.2% of students enrolled in two programs. Thank you to Southwest Tech for recognizing our efforts of preparing students for whatever path they choose following graduation.

#PointerNation traveled all the way to Racine and took care of business Friday! Congrats to our football team for its 30-13 win at Racine Lutheran in the WIAA Level 1 Playoff! Next up will be a trip down Highway 23 to Darlington in Level 2 next Friday, October 27. Go Blue!

Unfortunately, our Dodge-Point Boys Soccer team dropped the Regional Semifinal 4-0 Thursday at McFarland. Thank you for another great season and a special thanks to our Seniors for all the memories!

We couldn't have done it without you!

1st graders learned about cardinal directions and used their compasses from the

Mineral Point Excellence in Education Endowment Fund grant to find their way in the oak savanna!

English 9, English 10, and Drama as Literature students enjoyed a visit from some of the actors that appeared in "Romeo and Juliet" and "Our Town" at American Players Theatre!

3rd graders watched "Because of Winn-Dixie!" They finished their read aloud of it and got to compare the movie to the book.

Elementary School Counselor Ms. Welsh has been visiting classrooms to talk about friendship, feelings, and kindness!

Thanks to Southwestern for hosting the SWAL Leadership Conference this year! The guest speaker was Donovan Tolbert, a former NCAA Division 1 student-athlete who was ranked among the top 1% in the nation. Read more about him here: https://www.donovantolbert.com/

Collision Specialists SSE stopped by the school with a generous donation in the amount of $900. This was a portion of income from the Livingston and Fennimore locations where patrons could choose which school district they would like to support. Thank you so much!
