Varsity Football

Week 4 Callisburg - Devin Pittman, Carson Fugett, & Brae Gorman all found the endzone in Week 4. Fletcher Horton led us in tackles.


Week 5 Commerce - Nelson Fugett scored his first varsity touchdown. Austyn Herrington led us in tackles.


Week 6 Mount Vernon - Devin Pittman returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and had one receiving TD. Fletcher Horton led us in tackles.


GRADES! - I am proud to say that 100% of our varsity football roster is PASSING at the 6-week UIL grading period.

Feeding Fannin

Our Purple Warrior Football team volunteered at Feeding Fannin in September. For me personally, it was very eye opening. Some of our Purple Warriors have volunteered regularly at FF over the years. For me it was my first time. I was very proud of how they all jumped right in to help organize and distribute. It was good for all of us.

Austyn Herrington

Austyn has been a part of the football program from 2 years. Austyn plans to go to HVAC school and then work for his dad’s business.

Carson Fugett

Carson Fugett has been a running back for the Purple Warriors for four years. He plans to go to school to be an aviation mechanic.

LaDainian Keys

LaDainian has been a wide receiver and a defensive back for the Purple Warriors for two years. LaDainian plans to attend Grayson College, play basketball and pursue a degree in art.

Leo Zapata

Leo has been a wide receiver and defensive back for the Purple Warriors for four years. He plans to go to college and become the deep snapper for the football team.

Angel Esquivel

Angel has been a linebacker for the Purple Warriors for four years. Angel plans to continue his football career at the collegiate level and become a pediatrician.

Christian Brock

Christian is a corner for the Warriors and has played for four years. He plans to become a Navy Seal and get a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering.

Justin McBride

Justin has been the fullback and nose guard for the Purple Warriors for four years. He plans to go to college and get a degree in welding and mechanical engineering.

Matthew Backus

Matthew has been a part of the Offensive Line and Defensive Line for the Purple Warriors and been a tuba player for the band for four years. He plans to attend college and study finance.

De'marcus has been a member of the Offensive Line for the Purple Warriors for four years. He plans to continue his football career at the collegiate level and study photography.

Bryan Longoria

Bryan has been part of the Offensive Line and a linebacker for the Warriors for four years. He plans to attend culinary school at Collin County Community College.

Hunter LaBelle

Hunter plays right guard for the Purple Warriors. He plans to go to Grayson College and study welding.

Johnathan Brister

Johnathan has been the nose guard and right tackle for the Purple Warriors for two years. He plans to go to college to get a degree in health science and be a colonist on Mars.

Bryton Cole

Bryton is a four-year member of cross country and is also a four-year member of the BHS band playing the saxophone. He has enlisted in the United States Army as an aircraft mechanic.

Gavin Collier

Gavin is a four-year member of cross country and plans to be an entrepreneur and give back to Fannin County.

Ryan Gandara

Ryan is a three-year member of cross country and plans to get his CDL and work with his dad.

Cross Country

Our Boys Cross Country team has been hit hard with some adversity. Next man up! Our team has competed hard over the last month and have prepared themselves for the district meet on Thursday, October 12 in Bells.


Jr. High Cross Country wrapped up their season at the district meet in Bells last week. Hats off to these young athletes for all the hot afternoons they showed up to compete and for continuing to build this program. The boys took home the District Runner-up trophy! Congrats to all of our runners on a great season.

I want to highlight some of our coaches. This month is one of our new coaches at L.H. Rather, Blake Burnett. Coach Burnett has been showing since day one his work ethic and passion for our student-athletes.
